It’s time to squeeze the goal posts

Aubrey just hit a 64 yarder that would’ve been good from 70.
These kickers smash 50+ yarders right down the middle with ease every week. All teams need to do is get to the 40 yard line and it’s basically a guaranteed 3 pts. Especially with how specialized the kicker position has become over the years.
Every team’s kicker has a power leg so now I think it’s time to put more weight on accuracy at those distances.
Making a field goal “harder” will also give us more 4th down attempts if the offenses are between the 30 and 45 yd line.
I’d be happy if the NFL moved the posts in one yard on each side. As well as move the bottom crossbar higher. Thoughts?

Don’t need to change the field goal post, just let the defense do whatever they wanna do.

With all the rules on how the defense has to lineup and what they can’t do, these kickers can angle the ball much lower now than before, at least my guess

Just make a special FG ball heavier. Can test weights to find right balance. Fixed

Pat Mcaffe had a long opinion on this last week.
Kickers are allowed to have kb kickballs. Kick ballkickball. only for kicks and prepped accordingly. It's limited in time and treatment, but a huge difference maker. He feels they are getting 10 plus yards.

I think the FG should have to use the same ball from the previous play.
Stop allowing speciality balls.
But agree they should also tighten the uprights. Kicking in the nfl from within 48 yards is near automatic.
