What are their strengths and weaknesses? Offensive philosophy? Since they're going to the playoffs I feel I should learn something about them.

I work in an office full of Washington grads. It's getting more and more unbearable by the week.

But they are a good team. I expected this. What's scary is that they are still a young team. They don't lose much after this year or next. If Browning stays they will be preseason #1 in 2018. Shoe in for preseason Top 3 next year.

It's Clemson, tOsu, Michigan, Bama and Washington.

Everyone else is playing for 5th place this year.

Dogshite teams in every conference.

I would bet the house that the playoff is Bama ( easy choice) and UW - same and Clemson and winner of The Game.

That's your 4.

We look exactly like Boise State under Petersen when they were at their peak, but have better athletes at every single position. Petersen has been incredible.

Why is it that Boise got more exposure?

Boise was the Cinderella trying to crash the BCS for years. UW came out of nowhere this year.

I'm a buyer into the hype, they are ruthlessly efficient at what they do.

Washington looks legit, but it's hard to tell considering how bad the Pac 12 has looked thus far. Beating Stanford and Oregon doesn't seem as impressive as it did a couple of years ago.

They could steamroll through the conference and make the playoff, but get annihilated when they get there.

They have a shot because they're strong in the trenches. Also, this is a very young team that's a year ahead of schedule. Start getting used to hearing about them as long as Petersen's there.

Some people actually did. The over/under on wins for Washington was 10.

UW was on a lot of lists as dark horse playoff team before the season

Don't know. Their best win is getting punched by 2 loss Wazzou. But they already dealt with what should have been their best competition and the rest of the PAC12 looks like garbage.

They're good defensively and have a strong running game. Don't demand a ton of their QB; just take what's there and don't turn the ball over.

They're more of a second tier type team that will likely be over matched against an elite team nationally. The Pac-12 is really weak this season though so their only real obstacle for the remainder of the regular season should be maybe USC just on the basis of pure talent.

I had them in the playoff preseason. Of course I also had FSU so I guess that shows how much I really know

No doubt, I think Petersen will make them relevant again. There was a thread during the summer where I said they could be a playoff contender.

But like you said, I think they're a year ahead of schedule. The Pac 12 just doesn't look particulary strong to this point either, so I feel like they could have issues against a Bama or Ohio State in the playoff where they don't look as strong in the trenches.

I watched their game with Stanford and couldn't tell if they were incredible or Stanford was super shitty. I'm confident now that Stanford is shitty and I'm pretty sure Washington is really good. They're definitely in that group of 4-5 teams that will be playing for a shot at Bama in the Championship.

Wazzu under Leach has been capable of beating or losing to anybody. Apple Cup could be interesting for the first time since the 90s

To be fair, almost every other team would struggle with those 2 as well. Bama, OSU, Clemson are a cut above everyone else IMO.
