Is there now any doubt that Brady made Belichick?

The Patriots are now 1-2 and will likely be 1-3 when the Bucs get done with them next week. It’s crazy to me how stubborn and seemingly ungrateful Belichick was toward Brady in the end. And that anonymous assistant who came out a few years ago and proclaimed they could win with anyone? I wonder if he still thinks this.

Name a coach who won a bunch of championships with bad players.

I don't get why people want to have to choose between the 2.

The player, especially QB, is always going to be more important than the coach. But crazy thought, they kinda both need to be all time level good to win a shite ton of Super Bowls.

This thread is just as dumb as the threads that were made inverse of this thread last year when the Bucs started slowly

That’s on Belichick. He’s the GM.

Of course he does. When he gave Brady weapons to throw to, they won. Belichick’s big mistake was thinking he could win with or without Tom Brady. Other than that one season in Cleveland when Saban was his defensive coordinator, Belichick hadn’t won in the NFL prior to Brady becoming his starting QB in 2001.

Ehh. When the Patriots won titles it was because of their defense and running game. When they lost it’s because they put it in Brady’s hands (2007, 2011, and 2017).

Tom Brady threw the rock 48 times against Carolina in Super Bowl XXXVIII in a 32-29 win over the Panthers. He also threw it 50 times against Seattle in Super Bowl XLIX in a 28-24 win over the Seahawks. And then, of course, you have the 62 passes he threw in Super Bowl LI in their 34-28 win over the Falcons.

- With virtually the same roster that had gone 16-0 the year before (minus, of course, Tom Brady)

- Against the easiest schedule in the NFL that season

- With a QB who would go on to lead the Chiefs to a 10-6 season and a playoff appearance two years later, to say nothing of being selected to the Pro Bowl.

- And despite winning 11 games, the Patriots didn't make the playoffs.

actually they won 11 games with Cassell and then with virtually the same roster that the Pat's would win only 10 with Brady
