Wisconsin winning out would be the big 10's only chance even then I am not sure they would make it.

I think the ACC and SEC are in for sure.

Then you have ND if they win out.

Then the last spot will be between Wisconsin, Washington, and the Big 12 winner.

Wisky their shot.

Bama, UGA, the leaders, then a race between ND, Mia, Clem, Wisky, Wash, OU, TCU.

I think Clem, Mia, Okla, and TCU all suspect..same for Wash, Wazzu, and USC.

Bama and UGA if unbeaten by SECCG, appear to be getting close to making playoffs regardless of SECCG result?

I think the only thing that sure is that we can't be sure what is going to happen. Georgia and Alabama seem like the safe bets, but both still have Auburn on the schedule who could ruin the 1 vs 2 SEC Championship.

Then again, both could have a loss and STILL get in. This is setting up to be an interesting month of football, and I feel the cries for an 8 team playoff will grow. This is the perfect storm to make it happen. With the potential for 2 SEC teams and Notre Dame to get in, 3 of the Power 5 are going to get left out.

That won't sit well with a lot of people.

This is karma for Ohio State birches always talking about "2 loses" last year when they got in over the better team.

I don't see 2 SEC teams getting in. SEC, ACC, ND and Okla if they win out.

If SEC Champ loser has only one loss, then I think the last spot belongs to ACC/Notre Dame.

Next weeks Miami-ND game is HUGE. Miami might be playing for the entire conference.

You are crazy if you think a 12-1 clemson is not making the playoff

Okla if they win out.

Has a team with a defense even as close to as bad as Oklahoma's ever made the playoffs?

They're 88th in the country in yards/play against
75th in the country in points/game against

Bama and Georgia are both locks if they are undefeated going into the SEC Championship.

The Miami-Notre Dame winner will take the 3rd spot if they win out after.

The last spot should go to Clemson, Oklahoma, TCU or Wisconsin (assuming one of them wins out)

Too early to say, though yesterday did not help the conferences chances.

Big 10 and Pac 12 are the conferences currently in danger, though anything can happen.

Offense is other worldly though. Unlike years past, the skill position isn't what makes the offense go, it's the O Line. That's huge.
Check out OK state's defensive stats prior to yesterday. They were up there in all advanced metrics and we carved them up.
Defense is bad, and not even opportunistic (doesn't create turnovers). That's what makes the team unlikely to win out, but if they do there's no way they get left out.

In 2014, everyone was ready to write off the conference after the second week. They might not get a team in this season, but there's a lot of football left.

I'm not so sure. The loser has to drop in the standings - probably to 4th, if this scenario would come to pass. That would be a second consecutive neutral site game between the same teams.

why does the loser have to drop to 4th? everyone else is already gonna have 1 loss. (wisconsin and miami pending but let's say one of them goes undefeated and ill give that team #2 even though i don't think either gets to 13-0).

the loser of the SECCG will have the best loss of all 1 loss teams. why do they have to go to 4th?
