Losing a playoff game doesn't always represent "choking".

But why? If you can pick and choose criteria, I should be able to apply it.
Because you are operating under the mistaken assumption that all we care about is how many rings they have.
Obviously we don't. Many different factors go into it. But if you are trying to decide who is the greatest QB of all time or if Peyton Manning is the Michael Jordan of the NFL, post-season performance most definitely matters.

because you're being an idiot. no one is saying that rings are the only barometer of GOAT status.
when comparing two elite players, post season success, or lack thereof, is absolutely relevant to the discussion ALONG WITH OTHER THINGS, like yards, completions, etc
it's like saying cam newton is the GOAT because he put up a bunch of yards, but conveniently ignore his W/L and TD:INT ratio.

True enough. But when you've been on as many 12+ win teams as Peyton Manning has, and have lost as many times as they have, one could call a few of those defeats "chokes".

When did Jordan choke in the finals???
Posted on 9/29/13 at 6:22 pm to TTsTowel
what about throwing a pick six to ice the Super Bowl?

Are we really going to do this same thread and rehash the same arguments every week? At least one of these threads has been started after every Broncos game so far.

lol wut? Jordan has rings. plural
I suppose it was obvious you were bringing so much more than "rings" to the conversation.
Posted on 9/29/13 at 6:25 pm to RollTide1987
And don't forget he has the most int's of all time in the playoffs, so yeah he's a choker.
Posted on 9/29/13 at 6:26 pm to TotesMcGotes
are you going to bring something of substance to the discussion or just bitch like a girl on her period?
Posted on 9/29/13 at 6:27 pm to TulaneTigerFan
and you're right! And I will say just like I did in that last thread. Peyton Manning is without a doubt the greatest regular season QB I have ever seen. But his playoff accomplishments have been subpar. That there is reason enough to not compare him with MJ.

What is there to say that isn't said every week?
I just hate the "RINGS" argument. It's ridiculous.

When he goes 19-0 this year with the Super Bowl and another MVP, the haters here will finally admit he is the GOAT- maybe!

Maybe you should post it a third time.

If he does that, I might very well acknowledge that.
The bad news is that being the GOAT QB still doesn't make him "The Michael Jordan of football"
Posted on 9/29/13 at 6:32 pm to TotesMcGotes
The two facts i posted on the first page keep him out of the discussion, pretty simple.

You don't see any flaws in including that stat? None?
