Congrats. You’re right up there with Green Bay, Wisconsin.

I’d say Nola is 70-75 percent LSU and 90 percent Saints, but the state as a whole is flipped with those numbers since LSU is definitely more popular overall.
Like any major city, there are a significant number of people in Nola who moved there from other states.

New Orleans drives a big chunk of the Louisiana economy but a lot of rednecks are too dumb to recognize it.

This looks about right. I think LSU was much lower in the 80s and 90s. Almost all of the studs from NOLA in that time frame left the state. Peyton, Neil Smith, Leroy Hoard, Reggie Wayne, Ed Reed, Tyrone Hughes, Reggie Dupard to name a few. By 2003, Saban and then Miles started pulling those kids and LSU’s popularity in NOLA was also on the rise. A couple of natty’s and two Sugar Bowl’s won in the city didn’t hurt either.

LSU much more popular in NOLA now than 25 yrs ago. Football success TOPs etc saints much more popular in BR now than 25 yrs ago. The cities are slowing merging into one metro area there is a lot of cross pollination in media especially sports media. 90pct of NOLA metro are saints fans probably 75pct are LSU and a lot who went or other schools will cheer for LSU as their second school because their kids go to LSU or many friends who went to LSU. 75 pct of br are Saints ts fans maybe not diehards but they love football and will watch the Saints on Sunday. 25 yrs ago many Saints games were blacked out in BR now all the games are on TV.
