The only players that are truly mad at the tour are Phil and a bunch of the lower ranked guys.

Kopeka, DJ, etc just likes the money. Hell Kopeka had Jay at his wedding

They gave us a product that nobody wanted, as evident by the viewing numbers. The only reason the golfers are playing over there is money. Eventually, it will fold after they lose billions.

What moves could the PGA Tour have made to soften the blow of some random entity coming in and buying their players?

Listen to Phil & started making changes before the exodus began

i will go to both. Memorial is a lot easier for me to get to so i will be biased

I think the blood money angle was absolutely idiotic.

However, he is competing with an organization with unlimited funds while he has to actually rely on revenue and expenses and he has managed to keep the majority of the top players, so objectively yes he has done a good job

I’ll for sure be going to both. Multiple days at Memorial but I want to see what LIV is about and give it a proper chance I guess.

I don’t care about where their money came from or any of the media guilt angles about politics. I find the product they’ve put out completely ridiculous and terrible. But I do want to go and at least see it in person

One of the reasons Rahm gives for being unhappy is Jay Monahan keeping all the players in the dark about the merger. Tiger vowed it would never happen again. Rory wants no part of being Monahan's mouthpiece ever again. And the players now have the majority on the board and the bylaws have been changed. I'm honestly surprised Monhanan still has a job.

And I'm still convinced that with future defections, he won't.

Which course is better?
Memorial Park or Golf Club of Houston?

Without factoring in location I think I prefer GC of Houston but they’re both great. Very different courses

Rahm also praised Jay a a great leader this August and said he absolutely should stay in place and see this through. Just to be objective with facts here

I think LIV did a good job of offering 10X what the PGA tour could ever afford to drive the talent away from the PGA.

Where do you live? I have CW on youtubeTV in greater New Orleans area.

Sometimes on YouTubeTV you have to go into the guide in settings on Phone/computer and make sure you have the channel toggled on to show up in guide. Weird quirk of YTV when they add new channels, just FYI

The PGAT didn't help itself at all but the Saudi's vastly overpaying these guys what they are worth to play a meaningless and stupid format which nobody wants to watch has destroyed tons of interest in professional golf.

to be fair, i doubt anyone in his position would have done much better. the saudi's lauched a hostile takeover with pretty much unlimited resources. the only reason more guys haven't jumped is because of the negative publicity. what could jay have done differently?

Attending the open, I prefer memorial but GC of houston looks a lot better on TV. Memorial is still a muni despite the reno.

Memorial is just a lot easier to walk around and there is actually shite to do within walking distance or a short uber after.

Playing wise, they are pretty different courses. GC of Houston is a tiger boom course, reminds me a lot of Uclub in BR. Memorial is 100 year old heavily played golf course with a nice face lift

walking=memorial (it is almost always cart path only so you might as well)

riding= GC

I’ve listed some earlier but let’s just say…. If i have people who work for me and who are better at their job than most and they are offered a significant raise to leave.. I have a couple of choices and Jay and the tours leadership choose all the wrong ones.

You think DJ or koepkas boys still on the tour liked what their boss said about them or the older Euros just looking for some easy and fun money playing the game they love. They can say whatever they want in public but once that distrust sinks in, it’s tough to shake

In general, golf is not a great sport to attend in person just by its nature of golfers never being on the same hole and you missing most of the action.l because you can’t be multiple places at the same time. No other sport is like that except maybe street tracks for car races.
