If you Google "average WNBA attendance 2011", every answer is between 7,000 and 8,000. Please, argue all of those.

If you believe that shite, I've got oceanfront mountaintop property on Mars for you.

The most famous soccer player in the world is married to a Spice Girl. Last I checked, Ronaldo or Messy or whatever 5'5 mexicans y'all think are the greatest athletes in the world aren't tagging Spice Girls, so your point is invalid.

Hell women all over the world who don't know shite about soccer know who David Beckham is. I'd tell you why, but you probably have a soccer ball up your arse right now.

I'd love to see you do it. But I guess it would be "too easy" for you to try.
WSE, don't go there. Someone who considers turning left in a car for a few hours a serious sport just isn't going to get it.

if he still played maybe.

the answer is david beckham.

and here's the question.
are we talking about most recognizable?
or most fans?

those are two different things.

I saw last night that Sporting Kansas City is averaging about 19K this year. That would put them around 4th in the NBA last year.

that's the biggest point. Beckham is known by NON sports fans.
and he's been in his skivvies on billboards and in magazines across the country for almost a decade now.

I guess you've been to every WNBA game and counted every fan in attendance...and now you have a better number than me. Go ahead, I want to hear it.

Also, by calling them all "Mexicans" shows how ignorant and America-centric you truly are. Messi is Argentinian, Ronaldo is Portuguese. They're not just guys that stole your grass-cutting job out from under you.

You might want to look up who Ronaldo has dated.

So what? LSU averages more attendance than the saints.

More people attend Friday night texas football games than some colleges.

WHo gives a shite what people in towns with nothing to do with their time? it doesn't mean a god damn thing.

This is what the topic is about. These fools are trying to say the best player in the world's most popular sport = most well known. They are assuming that everyone in Europe, everyone in Latin/South America and apparently everyone in Asia as well as Africa not only follows soccer, but could pick some little soccer guy out of a crowd and tell you who he is and who he plays for.

Say what you will positive or negative about Kobe and LeBron, those guys are easily picked out of a crowd.

My boys in Seattle are averaging 42,000 right now...a four-year-old team...in a second-rate league.

Oh I forgot that you are 20 and went to Europe once so you know everything about everything. My mistake.

did we mention that these guys are 6'6 and 6'8 as well?
oh and that they're black?

that stands out.

And that they play a sport where people can see you the entire game? like they're always on the screen with a camera on them?

i'm still going with beckham.

and ronaldo no doubt pulls hot ladies. But posh spice is a world famous pop star, and then fashion icon.

More than Lebron or Kobe? Absolutely. Because "some soccer guy" to you is the icon of their favorite sport. They are going to know who he is more than an American basketball player.

I have absolutely 0 doubt in my mind that more people in the world know who Cristiano Ronaldo is than LeBron James
