I know, another Jimbo thread, but a different angle. Jimbo was my choice to replace Les, but I didn't see him as a "savior" of the program. I did think he was going to elevate the program, however.

He has had good success at FSU and in the ACC. He has a natty and some ACC championships. He won a NC, then went to another as an undefeated team and got routed by another team (59-20 to Oregon). Sound familiar?

Then comes another coach and team (Clemson) that slowly becomes the big dog of the conference and now Jimbo finds himself slowly moving back in the pack. Sound familiar?

Fans have been grumbling for the past few years about him even though he's racking up 10 win seasons.

Sound familiar?

Les never came close to a 2-5 record.

Les' personality wouldn't allowed for a team that just looked like they could care less. One thing Les always instilled in his teams, year after year, was the thought that they could beat everybody. Sometimes they looked so unprepared in the game that we questioned that... but the players believed it. FSU looks like they do not believe they are capable. If you don't think it, you won't be.

And Les would've have never waiting on a criminal or civil court case for rape to decide on suspension. He would have suspended and then allowed back if cleared. The opposite of Jimbo. Me personally, I like wins more than 'building character', but that's me (plus the NFL just destroys it more often than not). But I have to respect Les for his way of seeing, and acting, on such things.

Obviously they are different personalities. I'm just saying their results and circumstances are similar. I'm not knocking either coach just an observation.

Dabo has become Jimbo's Saban (Saban-lite).

Please stop. you guys that are still butthurt that jimbo didn't come, please stop knocking him down. he's a good coach. stuff happens. remember, they lost 2 of their warm-up games because of the hurricane after losing their starting qb.

sometimes things get out of hand.

No, they are so different. Les never gave in negatively to emotions, he was great at staying positive. Also never had a team as bad as this FSU one.

Yea. A national title, multiple conference championships, and consistent top 5 recruiting classes tend to grant you more leeway.

When O has those things, he’ll get the benefit of the doubt. In the meantime, we need to beat Troy

People got so aggravated with Les and him insisting on running the football.

When you run the football like that you don't lose to inferior teams when you have the talent edge. Winning was never contingent upon excellent QB play.

I confess that I was on the Jimbo bandwagon. Given this season at FSU, I think we were very fortunate that he didn’t end up at LSU. He may very well be unemployed after the 2018 season.

Les is a trillion times a better coach than Jumbo.

I just think it's interesting that neither he nor Herman have been the juggernauts people expected. I mean people here were melting over LSU not getting those coaches, and some of the same folks are still melting over Orgeron. It's definitely worthy of discussion.

Cowherball. As soon as he was up 10+ in the fourth quarter, he'd shut down the offense.

But he lost a grand total of one of those games in 15 seasons.

Les never had the program slip into the cesspool like the asshat, Jimbi has this year. He has lost control of the program. Les never did.

I would still take Jimbo over Orgeron, though he wasn't my choice for replacing Miles.

Next year fsu will be right back up at the top. Maybe Orgeron continues the momentum he has right now, but I definitely favor Jimbo as far as long term success.

LSU, at this point in the season, is throwing the ball less per SEC game than we did in 2015 and passing for less yds per SEC game than we did in 2015.

Let's see what happens at Bama.
