That ND win is looking better and better...and since then they are rolling everyone in the SEC.

I know it's Florida (which is techinically a Rugby team) but Georgia is just destroying them physically.

I haven't seen Bama look this dominant this year.

What if I told you there is an SEC championship game where we’ll get to find out?

Bama has earned the benefit of the doubt after nearly a decade of dominance.

Well the SEC champ game doesn't solve the rest of the teams question who are in contention for claiming #1.

I'm just saying, right now - objectively, you would have to vote Georgia #1.

But Bama will always get the benefit of the doubt...like one poster said, Bama has to lose 2 games to be left out of the playoffs at the very least.

Bama does (and should) get the benefit of the doubt.

I think UGA could be better, but at this juncture you can’t put them at #1

The committee cannot let last season results or preconceived notions impact any ranking. You have to look at wins and losses and quality of play and at this point UGA has a better resume. They should be #1.

You're in luck. There is now a 4 team playoff to figure that out as well.

1. Ohio State
2. Oklahoma
3. Penn State
4. Georgia

4-team playoff only solves the question of 4 teams promoted into said playoff.

Stop acting like everything is gonna get solved and works out in the end.

Rankings determine outcomes...how high was someone ranked when you beat them determines how committee members choose.

We've had this discussion on the first page regarding Penn State dropping in the polls in 1994 after beating Ohio State by 60 points...because Nebraska beat #2 Colorada that same week...and the only reason Colorado was #2 is Kordell Stewart's Hail Mary.

So quit acting like it doesn't benefit Georgia to move to #1 NOW!

And their resume and wins and margin of victory is better than Alabama...and it matters to have that drivers seat if you lose.

If you're #1 and lose you drop to like #5...and if you're Bama you drop to #3.

You used to drop to #7 or #8. Now everyone is lazy and just assumes, last year equals this year. Bama isn't even the champ. Usually just the champ got love.
