re: Is CUSA the worst FBS conference now, post realignment?

Sam has a great football program, but their attendance record is 16k cusa needed to force them to renovate. Also getting them without SFA is kinda weird.
I can at least see the others being FBS programs but are pretty spread out. Tech should be in the belt. The SBC built their conference expansion on schools being good at football and at least being relatively compact which seems to be paying off big time. Tech would be a good add to that, as much as they've fricked themselves

McNeese seems to be preparing for the opportunity to move up to CUSA.

LaTech deserves a better conference.
No more deserving than MTSU and Western Kentucky.

Started way before he was even hired at LaTech.
It absolutely did.
When LA Tech was in the Belt for Olympic sports, they acted like the prom queen who thought she was too good for any group of “friends” that was not amongst the most elite. I know for a fact they were a royal pain in the arse to deal with at the coaches scratch meetings before SBC T&F Championship weekends.
That said, at a time when all G5s, including and especially the Cajuns, but LA Tech included, are needing butts in the seats to boost home game attendance and revenues, I’d personally welcome them to the Sun Belt.
We’ll see though. Expanding to 16 teams and further dividing the TV/conference sharing pie doesn’t make much sense unless that pie is going to get larger.

Big 12 isn't too far behind when they lose UT and OU!
They already lost them and grabbed the four best available schools from the G5. They are poised to get Utah, Colorado, and the Arizona schools not if but when the Pac12 collapses. Meanwhile everyone is talking about the ACC getting raided by the SEC and B1G. None of the G5 conferences are close to having that bargaining power.
