There is likely a 4th or 5th year backcourt player for a small or mid-major
conference who is about to be a household name for 15 minutes.

Who is the next Danny Ainge, Fennis Dembo, Bryce Drew, Gordon Hayward, Jimmer Fredette, Steph Curry?

Damn. How old do you have to be to remember him solely as a player?

57 apparently.

I'm not far behind you. I don't remember him in college, but I do remember him as one of the original Dallas Mavericks.

My hate for Kentucky basketball was solidified in that tourney in 1978 and it was my first full year of following basketball, as I vaguely remember the KY upset the year before. Duke at the time wasn't special and was sort of an underdog even as 1 seed. There were only 32 teams in the NCAAs at the time.

Spanarkel, Gene Banks, and Mike Gminski were their core guys. Goose Givens destroyed them in the finals.

Who was that dude last year from Oakland that was just raining threes on Kentucky? I’ve already forgotten his name but he was awesome!
