It is a complete shite show this morning, and honestly it's a shite show 2 or 3 days out of the week. Their producer is apparently on vacation and for some reason nobody there can figure out how to get the show on the air...and I mean they literally cannot get the show to broadcast over the radio. Then they lol about it when they do make it on the air...which of course is followed up by another 5 minutes of dead air.

This happens to AFR at least twice a week so it's not really just having producers go on vacation. Then there's the shitty signal, which is a whole other thread.

I don't know if there is a worse one on the radio, but Fox 15 in Lafayette is a pretty terrible TV station. They are like the 4th best news station in Lafayette, and there are only 3. That's how bad they are.

The app seems to be down or something. I really don't get why their signal is down some much. But this is kind of a bad look considering that they broadcast in NOLA now.

I haven't toured the country listening to radio enough to say for sure... but it might be. The local afternoon show is total garbage.

What makes it bad, is when they do make it on the air they mock people who call them out portraying us as whiney babies lol. I don't think college radio stations are this bad.

While it's a bad look that their station is down. Driving in NW Louisiana and trying to a decent radio station has made me appreciate BR more.

That really does say something. I've rarely had an issue with a college radio station like KLSU.

If you have HD radio, then you can use 98.1 now.

100.3 in NOLA is certainly worse. Living in both cities I have listened to both extensively. The signal is normally awful and the local guys just aren't good on radio.

It is pretty bad. Not only the production issues.

Off the bench is their best show in terms of entertainment, but short on actual substance. Bro-dog radio.

The mid days show with whoever those talentless hacks are in unlistenable. I thought I caught them on a bad day the first time I listened, but it turns out it was a good day. Those two are about as much fun as listening to paint dry.

AFR is, at best, an informative show with a coherent host who sort of knows what he is doing. I don't much care for him personally, but the show is not a "bad" show.

And then when you get on the App and bitch about the signal they then act like you should only be listening through the app.

Is Tbob going to get Bernie Sanders to pay for my data plan??

Gordy comes on about once a month to just say frick y’all we can’t do anything about it, which I don’t believe.

Their signal is embarrassingly bad. It only goes like 450 feet. Why even have a radio station?

I have never understood why BR has had such horrible sports radio.

KNBB 97.7 coming out of Ruston is by far the best Sports talk in the state.

It's a terrible idea by Guaranty Broadcasting.

The idea of trying to combine two weak stations (one to the north of BR [Jackson] and one to the south [Donaldsonville]) to cover Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas is just idiotic and if they knew a lick about broadcasting, they would know the general public has no patience for static of any kind.

Radio nerds like me will put up with a little bit of static, but for most radio listeners, if they hear the slightest bit of static, they are changing the station immediately. That's what you get with these two stations in the metro area of Baton Rouge, and that's why their Nielsen ratings are awful.

I used to live in Walker when these stations were alternative, and neither station really came in good, and you're talking about a city that is ten minutes from O'Neal Lane. Most folks aren't going to switch over to check if 104-9 is coming in better than 104-5, they will just switch over to WYNK or WFMF.
