Morons pay $1500 for Kanye yeezy slippers. Morons are going to pay $495 for these.

My boy lavar designed them himself.

He could have signed a 5 year contract for tens of millions of dollars like a normal rookie and see where it went from there.
I honestly don't think the Balls have any desire to run a shoe company from top to bottom - design, production, distribution/sales. They have zero experience. The Big Baller Brand is less than a year old and all they have experience with is selling tshirts and hats online. It's foolish to think they are going to bring in the sort of money Nike or UA would have offered.
There's a big difference between Mayweather promoting his own fights and Lonzo starting a damn shoe company.

#2 topic on Twitter only behind AHCA. People will do it to be contrarian at first.

The sandal is $220
That's $30 more than a pair of Gucci slides. Lavar is fricking insane.

For context, Shaq sells his shoe at Payless for $25.00
Now we looking at a dude who wants to run his son's shoe at $500

Lavar Ball is legitimately a great marketer. He's earned millions of dollars worth of advertising today

He can still do that whenever he wants. Not like there's some deadline.
Again, it's a risk but if Lonzo gets off to a fast start, their leverage increases. If he signs a contract for 5 years and he's great, who benefits the most? The shoe company.

looks like those real ugly BK(british Knight) shoes back in the day. had that shitty, glossy, gator skin type of look

quote:If he comes back to the table, he's (a) lost money and (b) lost leverage. The deadline is money lost. Each minute they stick with this start-up tshirt/shoe company idea, millions of dollars are walking out the door.
He can still do that whenever he wants.
quote:Both benefit to varying degrees. Nike's benefit is obvious. Aside from the 8 figure guaranteed contract, Lonzo benefits because Nike has been promoting his shite for the past 5 years and already has an apparel line set up for him. Once those five years are up, then he can sign a Harden, Durant, Curry deal for a hundred plus million dollars.
If he signs a contract for 5 years and he's great, who benefits the most?
ETA: What I fear is that Lonzo's actual NBA money is going to fund this thing. We aren't just talking about owning a brand. We're talking about selling a product - a product that is not easy to make and that needs to stand up to the rigors of a basketball game.

Everyone is talking about them. He's already won.

That's if he's an elite hall of famer. If he's just really really good he might get a good deal. John Wall is a 4 time all star and he doesn't even have a shoe deal. He turned down 7 mil from Addidas and the well went dry. Lonzo is just burning money at this point by doing this.

Yeah that's kind of what I was getting at earlier when I said I wonder how this thing is financed and what he's going to be liable for. Because when it goes belly up he's going to be the one with the personal wealth, not Lavar

Millions of dollars of free marketing.

That's equivalent to the millions in free marketing United Airlines got last month.
