Is it the speed of the game?
The lack of diagramed plays explained to them?
The rules?
The television broadcast?

I guess about 70% of people even glancing at TV during an NBA playoff game have no clue what’s going on other than the most basic concept of the game (the most points wins)

There are sets where plays are obviously being continuously run.

So I guess I rest my case

Horns is the most recognizable set out there.

It’s like shotgun 3 WR for football.

Wrong but go ahead

So explain hammer and what you’re trying to do in it and what axis you want run it at. Can you run 4 around 1 out of horns?

Lots of southerners watch basketball. It's just that most of them happen to be not white.

I want to revisit this, because as Ballmer continues to innovate with LAC, they have AR that diagrams the plays being run.

I guess you’re Rockets fan that doesn’t see any plays being run by ISO-Mike.

The box and 1 defense the warriors run is truly a thing of beauty.

How is Horns not recognizable, Coach? With the prevalence of PnR/Spacing it’s incredibly recognizable.

I’m not claiming to be a coach, Coach, but good fans recognize sets. Why’s that so hard to believe that most viewers don’t?

Horns isn’t a single set. Thereby it’s not recognizable. Now if you want to call it a formation I’ll give you that.

You can run multiple sets out of horns. You can run motion hammer shuffle up and downs

You can also run a Princeton variation from it

You say this because you watch mostly rockets ball.

Check out this breakdown of one of the Spurs' power sets and the many deliberate variations. And SA is hardly unique in so doing.

The Rockets run plays all the time. I don't know where this idea that they just play street ball came from.
