Their games are rarely in the top for tv ratings because of who they play

What a load of emotional bullshite not based in facts. Every game they played this year minus Miami (OH) were in the top 10 most watched games of the weekend. Miami (OH) was 12th that weekend, and still had 1.7m viewers. The Sugar Bowl was the 3rd most watched playoff game so far and was at 3 PM on a workday.

So easy to make up narratives when they are based in emotion and not fact.

link?

ND plays the SEC when they're willing, playing Georgia, Tennessee, A&M in the last 5 years, adding home/home series with Arkansas starting next year, Alabama in 2026, in addition to hosting A&M on campus in 2025. Plus playing Miami, Clemson, FSU, Louisville and UNC as consistently ranked teams, and traditional rivals (USC, Navy/Army, Michigan State, Purdue).

ND fans will never understand the importance of conference games until they join a conference. Every team in the SEC and Big 10 have 8 or 9 games that are more important than an OOC game with ND. As an LSU fan I value a conference game more than a match up with ND.

ND plays a tougher schedule than the SEC cake walk with buy games,

That's why ND has market leading apparel, sponsorship and TV deals because of those consistently high ratings.

they aren't even in the top 10 of teams that generate the most revenue for their university

You're just enamored with being in a labor union to get yourself pumped up for the barn burner with Moo State and your communist slice of revenue from crappy midweek bowl games.

Because LSU usually loses the game vs ND, conference games don't mean more just because your broadcast vendor says so.

If LSU could beat ND, it might matter more than wins versus Kentucky, MSU, Florida or take away the stink of wins versus Southern and New Mexico and 1-AA patsies.

Sorry Boudreaux and Thibodaux, LSU vs Missouri is not on par with 100 years of rivalry with Army or 95 years vs USC, but I'm glad it gets you worked up at 11 am on Saturday for a game on UPN. Those meaningless championship games aren't interesting for the teams that play in them, let alone the viewing public.

The facts and ratings don't lie, the Under Armour deal is the best in all of sports, no other school invented College GameDay and exclusive TV deals, but somehow a TD poster has more information on ND finances that aren't even available to the public as a private university.

The conference pride has been watered down with all of recent shake ups. I'm also not a "SEC....SEC....SEC" guy. It generally depends who they're playing, but I never understood the point of rooting for your conference rivals in out-of-conference or bowl games. I hate Alabama. I hate Auburn. I hate Georgia. I hate Florida. I hate Tennessee. I hate Ole Miss. Why would I pull for them?

Also, as a LSU fan, I'd value a LSU vs. ND matchup over at least LSU vs. Arkansas/Mississippi State/Kentucky/Vanderbilt/South Carolina/Texas A&M/Missouri. That's half the league.

Someone used the "it just means more" meme seriously in an argument.

Tell me how hyped you get for LSU's long storied rivalry with Mizzou and Vandy.

I'm sure none of the players in South Bend or LA care about ND vs. USC because it's not a conference game.

Valuing an OOC win over a conference win is pretty stupid.

This has nothing to do with conference pride...it is all about teams that are in a conference have a goal to win their conference. A win over ND does not do that and while you may value a win over ND over a win over the bottom teams of the sec it means absolutely nothing when trying to win the conference...but the conference games matter Just this year we lost to USC and it didn't hurt us at all bc we were in the hunt for the sec until the 2nd half at A&M.
