Sorry I don’t think everyone knows. And it is a fun fact. And I’d say it’s relevant when someone calls out city of a team when that team isn’t in that city.

Love the Lions story but I'm on SF moneyline, so I'll be rocking the red and gold.

You’re being downvoted because it’s unrelated to the initial topic. Plus it’s not even a “fun fact”. But you go ahead and have fun with it anyway.

Edit:
To be honest… I don’t know that I’ve ever witnessed someone try to actively derail and hijack their own personal thread before… that’s quite something

16 NFL teams (half the league) don’t have the city they play in as the title of their team.

These seem to be acceptable.

This, I'll never understand.

The Lions are a temporary "America's Team"... and we'd all love to see them finally win one.

Nobody wants the fricking Chiefs but click-bait posers and social media morons.

Ravens and Niners have had their glory.

Lions are what America needs to feel good about itself again.

I was rooting for Bills vs Lions 100%. I would have legit felt bad for who ever team fan base would have lost that hypothetical Super Bowl.

Anyway… hopefully Lions can pull this off

The whole country is rooting for the Lions… a hard nosed bunch that are taking the NFL by storm…

Isn't that just like the Ravens...?

It is. People think its the hard nosed, rough blue collar nature of the lions, but really its their lack of success as the reason most are rooting for them. Baltimore and san fran are also hard nosed and taking the nfl by storm too. Actually the 49ers and Ravens actually have good defenses, something that i think will be detroits demise

What makes this Detroit team more “hard nosed” than other teams? It’s not like they are using power run game and a smothering defensive front to win.

Seems to be based on feelings, and feelings are for females.

People are rooting for them, because they’ve sucked forever. The general pop loves an underdog, because most people can relate to being a loser.

I don’t know if I’ve ever pulled for a team harder that isn’t the saints (or the jaguars since I moved and they’re my son’s favorite team) than I will be the lions.

Rooting for the last pick in the draft to win a Super Bowl. True underdog story.
