1) lifetime NCAA ban for anyone with knowledge of the cover up. This would be subject to the findings of the courts in past and future trials on this matter.
2) vacate all wins from Penn state from date of the first rape
3) vacate all wins from joe pa from same time
4) remove Joe Pa from the college hof
5) create an oversite position for the supervision of NCAA regulated sports answerable to only the bot, not to any one person.
6) allow any player to transfer without penalty
7) all money made by the program to be given to charity except what is used to allow for other sports such as womans softball etc.
8) post season ban for three years
9) all people that were involved in psu football (, coaches, assistants, office staff etc) fired.
10) loss of 12 scollys for three years

What penalties would you dish out?

None.

This wasn't a football issue imo.

The offenders have been or will be punished accordingly.

1. Lifetime ban from all NCAA institutions for any individuals involved. Any school hiring said individuals is automatically banned from any postseason play.
2. Penn State & Joe Pa vacate all wins from the date of the first coverup.
3. Strip Joe Pa of any and all awards and honors.
4. All players allowed to transfer with no penalty.
5. I'd prefer a postseason ban equal to the number of years this was covered up (seems reasonable), but I supposed I'll just go with a 5 year ban on postseason play.
6. Not allowed to issue any football scholarships during the 5 year ban.

And I thought my sanctions were harsh. Some of these are like a death penalty on roids.

The death penalty can only be applied for one season.

Therefore, I would ban Penn State from playing football this season. I would then ban them from offering scholarships for the following three seasons. No bowl games and no TV coverage.

If the Big 10 wants to ban them from the championship game during that time, they can do that. Penn State won't get there anyway.

Starting for the 2016 season, Penn State can be fully reinstated to normalcy, except for one key, ongoing part:

There has to be a "dePaternoization" on campus. No memorials apart from anything which is not directly or indirectly related to the football program, like the library. No statues. No monuments in the Penn State sports museum. The records and bowl wins can stay because the players contributed to them and are innocent, but Paterno has to be erased.

It's clear that Paterno is worshipped as a god there. That has to end. Otherwise, you'll have the same culture of unaccountability that allows the indefensible in the name of winning football games. Thus the harshness of the ban and the end of deifying him.

Also, I would allow immediate transfers and have the NCAA pay the contracts for all coaches and support staff for the football program for one year, provided they weren't involved in the Sandusky affair. Most of those coaches are new and their lives would be disrupted if not for compensation. I think that's fair.

The people who knew should be banned from all NCAA campuses. Let the law dish out the other punishments for those involved. The reason the football program would go untouched... Think of how much money baton rouge would lose if everyone across the state didn't travel to baton rouge as get hotels, food, gas, shop around, etc if they shut down the football program at LSU. All These things everyone here name doesn't just affect te university, but the students who play, the city, the state of penn., hell even the families in the area. Nothing better than having a dad take his kid to a football game. Jail time and fines for those who hid it. No program touched.

Harsh as possible without the death penalty. If this were 10 years ago and Joe Pa was still there I would be all for the Death Penalty. I just can't see doing it to all these people who weren't there and had nothing to do with it.

Kick them out of the NCAA. No death penalties. No fines. Kick them out. This was not one or two people, it was the entire leadership that didn't just cover up but enabled Sandusky to do what he did and did so after they knew what he was doing. The culture at Penn State helped create this as well. I'd give them a five year or more suspension from NCAA. Let them go hang out in NAIA for awhile.
