And Tennessee's defense wasn't great in 07 but they did make it to the SEC Championship game by beating SEC competition. And if you say RP received lots of mop up duty, then starting in a big game like the SECCG, I'd still say he did a good job at that level. We all know he didn't get those stats because of mop up duty though. He came in the game at crucial points to put us in scoring position or put points on the board.

I would take Ryan Perilloux anyday at quarterback in the NFL. Perilloux has all the skills to be successful.
If he can only stay focused on the game and stay out of trouble off the field.
Tebow, plays hard and does the most with what he has, Tebow is like Hester, just a football player. But RP has is much more talented with the skills necessary to be a NFL quarterback.

You guys realize that in this draft the odds are that there will really be only 2-3 serviceable future franchise QBs, right? Maybe less.
Perriloux is just as likely to end up a massive bust as Tebow. I agree that taking Perriloux in the 5th or 6th round would be much greater value than Tebow in the 1st, but given a choice between the two at the same draft position, at least Tebow can help your team in other ways.

Based on what? When was the last time Tebow caught a pass or took a handoff?
Why didn't he line up and take snaps at TE this week? The WVU QB who's just as big as Tebow said he'd play anything, DB, TE, h-back, etc.
