i went last year to the ND vs Michigan game and wasnt to impressed. mike haywood who was the OC there is actually a good friend of mine so we were able to tour the facilities which were really nice. but as far as the atmosphere and stadium itself i wasnt impressed. but it is something to experience bc of the history of the school..

I went to 2 LSU/ND games at South Bend. Good atmosphere. Beautiful campus. Friendly hosts.

I'd go to the game. But you must wear purple and gold. That goes without saying (even though I said it ).

i bet its nothing like the LSU atmosphere... If i had 2 tickets, i would sell them and put that money towards going to the LSU vs Bama game...

maybe not on a consistent bases but USC vs ND w/ USC coming in undefeated was about the best college football atmosphere I have ever been apart of.

You should definately go. Be sure and visit the Grotto, Basilica and College Football Hall of Fame. Bundle up because it is cold.

You'd be a RUH-TARD if you dont go. Do you know how hard it is to get tickets to ND football? Their waitlist is massive

I was at the game in '98. As much as it pains me to say it, that place was 1st class, all the way. The grounds around the stadium were beautiful, the fans were cordial, and I was most impressed with the people working the stadium, such as ticket-takers and concession people...they were super nice and very welcoming. I went in with the attitude that I was going to hate the place just because it was ND, and left there with lots of respect (though I still hate em!)

The atmosphere will be awesome and the crowd will be loud. MSU will bring a lot of fans and maybe their band. ND fans make noise. It may not be as crazy and loud as Tiger Stadium, but you will have a good time. As others have said they treat visiting fans very well. If your tickets are in the MSU section the atmosphere will be pretty good unless ND is blowing them out. Since MSU fans will be in number and loud the game will have a great atmosphere since ND fans will also be loud in response. The bands will keep the crowds going.

Anyone ever been? One of the stadiums I wouldn't mind seeing, considering the fact I'll already be up there. Its for the ND MSU game by the way.
Yes, you should go no matter who's on TV at the same time. The Campus is impressive. Touchdown Jesus is something you've got to see in person. I went for a BC game--when neither team was contending and although I don't care about either team. Just went to see a game. It was the wildest weekend of my life (think "Hangover") although I won't go into that. Anyway, you've got to do it once in your life, might as well be when it's convenient. BTW, they kicked out someone for having alcohol when I was there (not me, I'm too sneaky), so watch out.

I went to the ND vs BC game two years ago (The night we lost to KY in OT)... I had a good time. I went due to a bet I won when we beat ND the year before. It is different from TS or the SEC, but that is why I go CFB games in other places. I would go without hesitation.

I went to the 2005 Michigan/ND game in South Bend. Was wearing my LSU shirt and hat too! I went just for the experience. Even had someone come up to me and tell me he was from Louisiana and came up here for the same reason I did..... It was decent, but nothing compared to LSU. I'm not saying that as a fan either. If I hated LSU, I would say the same thing.

...and the girls up there are definitely below average.

So worth it to go. Its always great to see something new. I went to a ND-UCLA game a few years ago. Definitely worth missing the LSU-Fresno State game in Baton Rouge.
