Why are some of the most successful franchises small market Pittsburgh and Green Bay?

Why did they let small market Buffalo make four superbowls in a row?

Why have the Jets been awful for so long?

Why has Chicago only been to two Super Bowls when they're the 3rd largest city in the US?

Why have the Cowboys not been to a Superbowl since 95?

If your team doesn’t capitalize when opportunities are presented then the only logical thing is that the system is rigged.

Can you not conceive that draft, injuries, and coaching have to do with how good a team is? The league, can however, decide who they “prefer” in the SB as the playoffs get closer. $$$$$$

Straight up rigged, as in fixing games? No. Do I think the head office influences the way ref's call games especially against certain teams, yep.

It is rigged to a certain extent. Some teams are just way better than others and that's why they win. But the Refs influence The flow of the game if they can to make a winner. The best team does not always win the super bowl

So your reason for not considering that the league may be rigged for the LA Rams this year - is because these other storylines? That doesn’t make any sense.

The better qtn is - how can a vet referee miss a call like that? Either total incompetence or cheating.

This is so true. fricking Tom Brady gets hit on the shoulder pads and gets a flag. Drew Brees gets hands to the face on the int and no flag. Cam Jordan himself said after the game they don't get calls like other teams so they got to go out there and straight up be better than the opponents. There are no gimmies

Pretty much every team Green Bay and Pittsburgh have played in the playoffs have bigger markets than them. Yet the NFL has let them play in 13 combined Super Bowls. They even let them play each other one year.

So many chances to frick them and it didn't happen.

just bc it's rigged now doesn't mean it was always rigged. Pro wrestling wasn't always scripted.

Nobody is suggesting every single down is scripted. If you refuse to see the obvious, it's your decision to remain delusional. When there are millions and billions of dollars at stake, do you think a massively greed species is going to just overlook it? If you had extra millions at your fingertips, you'd manipulated the system too.

I think the argument is that when a game is close refs will make certain calls to help a certain team prevail. And what you don't call is as impactful as what you do call.

You can't rig the Jets to be great.

The issue is these are All star crews. The highest graded official at each position. So these guys haven’t worked together. That’s the problem ibo.

The NFL can't make draft choices or hires for teams. The teams still have to actually have competent management and coaching.

Whether it does happen or not, the league does have the capacity to dictate to ref crews to favor a team. The big market teams still have to make it to the stage before the refs can influence in their favor.

You don't need a high grade office to see pass interference.

Oh they missed the call. Professionals mess up all the time. Kickers miss extra points. Brees throw the ball at Thomas feet on first down of that drive. Etx etx

There are too many moving pieces to truly be rigged... but that doesn't mean it can't be influenced, intentionally of just subconsciously.

if it is rigged how Did we get only 3 penalties all game? Wouldn’t we have been penalized when up 13-0 to keep the rams in the game? Bc we didn’t get a flag til the second half.

It is. No way the Saints would have gotten to the Super Bowl in 2009 without the NFLs help.

Pitt and GB aren't "small market" teams, due to both teams having a large national following.

I don't think there is straight-up rigging. But I do think the NFL is much happier with LA in the game instead of New Orleans. Maybe now the celebritards in LA will get excited and talk about / go to the Super Bowl.

Not to mention, the NFL is just sloppy. Letting two officials with ties to the LA Area officiate the game? Why not have them do the other conference champ game? Why would the league even open themselves up to that kind of criticism?

The game was close the whole way. The Refs only call plays near the end to influence the decision. They can't straight up call penalities on ever play because it would be too obvious. Match fixing goes back to the NBA. Do some research some refs got in trouble
