How can you play for a national championship and not even win your side of the conference?

They are one of the 4 best teams, they should get in. This isn't difficult.

Don't you remember 2011? It's obvious this game was thrown by the officials. I hope it backfires on the Big 10 but don't see that happening.

Nebraska got into the BCS game this way also after losing by about 40 to Colorado the previous week

"Conference" refers to 9 games in this case. Ohio State played 12.

I'm surprised that people still don't get this.

It was a fluke loss similar to when Ole Miss beat Bama last year. If Arkansas hadn't converted that crazy 4th and 25, Bama wouldn't have won their division either. Would anybody have said that Ole Miss should have been in the playoff over Bama if they had won that Arkansas game?

I agree. You should have to win your division to be in consideration for a national championship.

Teams that don't win their division get into the playoff and have won the Superbowl. Why should CFP be any different. Are there 4 teams better than tOSU?

OU and LSU each had a better record and tougher schedule and higher margin and ratio of victory than USC. The correct teams were in the Sugar Bowl.

Bama did it. I'm sure if there was another team this would happen to, it's 100% Ohio State.

If the only people that think Ohio should be in the playoffs are Ohio fans then I think we know who's right....

It ought to matter if you win your conference. That would set a very dangerous precedent.
