What an idiot. Gruden is overrated AF compared to Tomlin.

He shouldn’t be fired, but he also isn’t a top 3 coach like you claim in OP

Other than Belichick and Reid, who is better than Tomlin?

I'll hang up and listen.

Stop what? All the material he's had Steelers should have 3 rings since he's been there. Basically the Bobby Cox of pro football. Pay attention to the games over the yrs & anyone can see terrible in game coach especially with clock management. Let's see what he can do with his own QB now.

You're a moron.

Thanks for confirming that.

You want overrated? Look at that fat frick McCarthy.

We're not talking about this year dumb arse with a worn out Hall of Fame QB we're talking about 14yrs as their head coach. Most of those yrs with the best overall talent in the league. Like I said if Cowher stays as head coach there's more than just one championship during that time period & that's guarenteed.

For almost all of his career Cowher was the guy who couldn't get it done and it took some serious help from the refs to finally win a Super Bowl (and I'm not a Seahawks fan saying that).

Harbaugh- 1 Super Bowl Win, 3 Conference Championship Game Appearances, 11 playoff wins, 9 Playoff Appearances

Tomlin- 1 Super Bowl Win, 3 Conference Championship Game Appearances, 8 playoff wins, 9 Playoff Appearances

Payton- 1 Super Bowl Win, 3 Conference Championship Game Appearances, 9 playoff wins, 9 Playoff Appearances

Carroll- 1 Super Bowl Win, 2 Conference Championship Game Appearances, 11 Playoff wins, 11 Playoff Appearances

They're all very similar. You could draw straws to pick for who the best coach is out of that bunch.

3 of the 4 have had a HOF QB, they other had Joe Flacco

In no specific order I would take the following current coaches over Tomlin:

Matt Lafleur
Sean Payton
Andy Reid
Bill Belichick
John Harbaugh

Mike Tomlin's greatest feat:

The Consistency of NEVER having had a Losing Season

HOWEVER:

Tomlin's teams over the years either OVER-Performed OR UNDER-Performed. Consistently. (I thought the Steelers should have won 2-3 Super Bowls with his teams.)

Oh. My bad. ROETHLISBURGER performed like Joe Montana to win that single SB.

So I can't take you seriously either.

Got it.

And Flacco is the Ravens QB, genius.

Hey -- just calling it like I saw it.

Your Steelers under-performed and should have won at least two SBs. Come on -- even you must know that deep inside.

I said other than Belichick and Reid:

I'll give you Payton.. Harbaugh is a wash. Lafleur hasn't been doing it long enough and he also has the luxury of having Rodgers, so nah.

Which ones?

And them winning SB43 wasn't a fluke.

Yeah, my bad -- I mixed up SB years (Flacco and Ben) where respective SB wins were flukes as a result of screw ups by defenses in the last minutes.

But they still made the plays needed to win. So credit is due.

That Steelers Wild Card Team OVER-performed.

They won 43 on a ridiculous drive against an inexplicable Cards prevent D capped off by Big Ben's prayer to Sanantonio Holmes...then that tippy-toe corner throw & catch to Sanantonio Holmes. THAT was OVER-performing my friend.

They did. I'll give them and you that. (Still an OVER-performance in 43)

It's Yinzer tradition to overrate native son Bill Cowher and underrate Mike Tomlin.
