He's a borderline Top 10 QB in the NFL and that's good enough to win a Superbowl.

I'm not sure that's true anymore. The last qb I can remember in recent memory that wasn't elite was Eli. He was playing well enough, and his defense was playing out of it's mind at the time.

Almost everyone conceded the division to the Eagles before the season started.

Well I still saw the usual Cowboys to the superbowl pre-season picks. But you are right.

Eagles did have the hype this season. Very rare it's someone else not named Dallas..

Stats are stats, you can't "make them" say anything. By their very nature, they are recording what has happened.

But the point is that QB rating is a far from perfect metric for judging a QB

If Romo compiles some decent 4th quarter stats then chokes on a couple of crucial 3rd down conversions then he still has an awesome QB rating despite being anything but clutch.

Aaron Brooks used to put up decent stats and he would often play poorly on 3rd and medium plays that were drive killers.

Stats aren't the only thing that you can judge a QB on. Unfortunately there is some subjectivity and further analysis that has to be done to really understand how a QB is playing.

Yeah this is such a passing dominated league now that you probably need a top 6 QB to win it all

Agreed. I think only an elite pass rush could circumvent that.

cowboys fans are starting to sound eerily like cubs fans...every year is the year and then they are shocked to finish last.

Romo is or is very close to a top 6 QB.

Tier 1:
Rodgers
Brady
Brees

Tier 2:
Ben
Romo
Eli
Rivers (he is gonna bounce back I think)

If Manning comes back as Peyton Manning and Rivers becomes Rivers again, then Romo is the eight best QB in the NFL at worst.

Not a Romo fan. I just don't think he has that killer instinct......that drive that makes you a top QB.

That being said, the main problem with the Cowboys is that we know more about their owner and their DC than we know about their HC, other than his name is Jason. I hear more about Cowboys games from Jerry Jones than I do from Garret. And OMG...............REX RYAN'S BROTHER HAS LONG HAIR..........HE'S SO CRAZY!!!!
