ETA: In reality, the Hall of Fame is stupid though. Entertainers patting themselves on the back; just like the Oscars.

The two couldn’t be more different. The oscars are voted by members of the academy. The hall is voted by writers.

Comparing the academy to baseball writers is asinine.

They are all entertainers; Jesters. I couldn't care less what they call the groups they created to pat themselves on the back.

Two things:

1) He broke the one rule posted in every clubhouse (at least at the time) that stated don't do this or what happened to him would happen to him.
2) He never did the tearful apology tour.

Just wait until everybody that remembers is dead. Standards keep getting more lax.

Pete Rose’s career slugging percentage barely breaks .400. Really good player, not even close to the greatest hitter in baseball history.

Rose took out Fosee in an Allstar game...and separated and broke his fricking shoulder. Fosse never fully recovered and has chronic pain from that hit 50 years later. It happend in the 12th inning to win the game for the NL.

Bonds cheated to get a physical competitive advantage over his competitors. That’s a whole different animal than betting on your games. The funny thing is that Bonds didn’t need to do that. He was a more complete player when he wasn’t filling his body with the juice.

I would think age as much as juice caused him to be a less complete player. He was like 37-40 at that time. Not sure how much baserunning and defense matter when you are putting a 1400 OPS either.

Because he is a dumb frick

All he had to do was go away, make himself invisible and let it all go away and be forgotten

Instead he rubbed his shite in MLB face every fricking few months. Running gambling shows in Vegas, running gambling shows and selling shite near Baseball HOF. Just a complete frick you to MLB. shite, Pete Rose became the face of Gambling/horse racing for a few years with his gambling shows.

All he had to do was just go away, be quiet and stop rubbing their nose in his shite. But the dumb arse just couldn't stop himself.

All he deserves now is a shirt, hat, etc in there for his records, he pissed any chance of a plaque with his head in there.

And i'm Pro pete, but he's done this to himself

Most hits doesn’t mean he was the greatest hitter, but yes he should definitely be in the HOF

The most hits, yes. The greatest hitter, no.

But you are right, the greatest hitter in baseball history is not in the HOF either. His name is Barry Bonds.

You forgot the word allegedly. Bonds never failed any testing and broke zero rules of the MLB.

Now, did he juice. Probably, maybe, but we have no definitive proof and it was not against MLB rules when/if he did it.

Bonds is simply the greatest player in MLB history and it really isn't close.
