Yeah, I expect totally positivity from the fanbase of a team that is the best they’ve ever fielded in their lifetime having to go to a game 7 after blowing three previous home games and starting off 1-10 with RISP.

Can’t imagine why fans would be negative or complaining. Wow you bring up such great points it really makes me question everything thanks OP

Fanbase doesn’t handle losing in game 7 of the World Series well

The problem with most Astros fans isn't how they handle losing game 7 of the world series. The problem is how most handled the entire season, even during the 107 wins they had during the regular season. It's like y'all refuse to enjoy the amazing product that team put out this year (and the past couple before that) and the only thing that truly makes you happy is being miserable. The fans on this board don't deserve to have another title.

Fwiw, the negative/critical side of "fanatics" is a modern development. Originally the word described people who were overly enthusiastic and uncritical.

This has to be a joke. You can't see how people would hate Soto?

I've been a huge baseball fan my whole life but still can't help but roll my eyes at the holier than thou nature of some baseball fans. Get the frick over it. He's having fun playing a game. And he's goddamn good at it.

What am I missing with the Soto hate? Anyone who appreciates the game should appreciate him.

If he would quit that childish thing he does when he takes a pitch I wouldn't mind him. Hell I'd probably like him.

The price will probably be out of the Astros' range for many different reasons, so more than likely not.

Cole seemed extremely salty after the game. I was already guessing he was going out west. Now there is no doubt

I don’t disagree with that redd, kinda why I stay away from the DAT’s in the regular season. I can’t tell if some of that is schtick and they are trying to be funny or the melts are serious over May games.

But I do think some of it is the amount of Astros fans, the success that sets these unrealistic expectations of playing perfect in a very difficult game, and getting defensive when trolls come out. All of that combined is a pretty easy trigger for fans to say stupid shite and embarrass themselves.

I’m pretty gutted over losing that game and this series, but the window is still open for this franchise and it’s a hell of a lot more fun watching this team win 100 games a year than it was watching them lose 100 games a year so I’ll enjoy it while I can.

They don't have a solid rotation next year behind Verlander and Greinke. Verlander and Greinke are both over 35.
This was the year... The offense also has to make decisions on Springer and Correa.

Yep, you’ll turn into the Cubs before you know it.

Inevitable, but you'll never take 2017 away from me.

All of this is true, but you gotta see where Soto would be pretty damn irritating to watch for 7 games against your team

Mentioned it my thread but they’re some weird LSU/Bama fan hybrid. All doom and gloom when everything is good but also expect everything is owed to them and nothing ever seems to be good enough. Never seen anything like it on this board.

The DAT has a lot of shtick to it. Ppl who only show up occasionally to troll aren't going to understand that.

As others have said, most of the hate comes from the Astros being the dominant team on the board. Fans of random teams are typically on this board to troll, same as LSU/Saints shitposting. Not really complicated.

Yeah, I think most Astros fans realize that of all the chances past, present, and future in this current run, this was probably the best.

As for Soto, the worst thing about him is listening to Buck and Smoltz talk like he's the second coming of Babe Ruth. That's far worse than anything on the field. He's a great player and should be fun to watch for a while.

Absolutely, that’s why this hurts.

As fanbase and a city, this is probably the best team we’ve ever had in my lifetime. I can’t think of any other spot where I expected to win. It creates apathy and delusions.

There is no doubt that we will look back at this 3 year and it will be the best we’ve ever had it. That’s what sucks the most, literally on the door steps of an all-time run and piss it away
