But to the point of their pushing for a rematch: They weren't when OSU, Oklahoma, Stanford and Oregon had one (or zero) loss.

FOX had the BCS contract in 2006.

Clearly, if you think ESPN has analysts "clamoring" for certain teams because ESPN "wants" them in the BCS CG.

That is clear. What isn't clear is why ESPN has "integrity" with Kirk not picking a winner on gameday but arguing for certain teams to play in the BCS CG.

What, that ESPN wants certain teams in the BCS CG?

I love the irony of extremely biased fans griping about networks being biased.

He picks other games, just not the one he is calling. What lack of integrity is there is an analyst stating an opinion about why a certain team should play in the title game, when 1 of about 3 or 4 have a shot at it? Is the team he's arguing for unworthy or is it just a team YOU don't agree should be in the title game? If Kirk is arguing for 6-5 or Notre Dame you'd have a point. At this point there are only a handful of teams with an argument, for him or any other analyst to pick 1 of those teams is perfectly reasonable and not necessarily biased.

but it's not consistent with what they have said in the past regarding rematches in the title game, a team having to win their own conference to get in the national title, etc

There is only 1 other time in BCS history that a rematch of that sort was even possible. It seems pretty clear after last week that LSU and Alabama are the 2 best best teams.

Its pretty comical that you guys think they are pushing for a rematch because its "better" ratings. 2 teams from the same region does not have great national appeal.

Here are the 1 loss teams with a shot at the BCS CG, assuming LSU wins out and so do they:

Alabama
Stanford
Ok State
Va Tech

Only OSU and VT are likely to win their conference. Which of those 2 do you think they should argue for? The punch line of this is, if say LSU had lost to MSU and WVU, but beat Bama, keeping Bama from winning the SEC and keeping LSU out of the NC picture. ny ESPN talking head that said Bama didn't deserve to go to the title game because they didn't win their conference would be blasted by you same people for being biased against the SEC

An LSU-Bama rematch will not come any where close to the Texas-USC ratings.

maybe, but not by much. I bet Stanford with Luck would be get better ratings than a rematch of a 9-6 game. You guys are really paranoid/gullible if you think ESPN is purposely touting a rematch for better ratings.

Also, feel free to offer an explanation why Bama is so unworthy of being #2 or why OSU is so much more deserving?

Im sure a rematch would easily outdraw osu or Stanford. The first matchup drew a 11.8 and that was against other games on like 10 channels.
