Lakeside-Evans @ Richmond Hill on Friday. Our crew did have N.Murray @ N.Hall but got switched due to guys having too short of turnaround times who were doing Saturday games, also. That's a hell of a drive.
No shite. I grew up in Savannah; driving from there to Gainesville to do a game the next day (or night) is beyond stupid.
I happen to live halfway between Chickamauga and Franklin, so my commutes aren't too bad. My Saturday game is at 1pm. Is the N. Hall game in the afternoon or evening?
Also, I saw where Kevin Giddens put out a statement to the effect that first round games on Saturday were to be permanent and they would rotate classifications to play on Saturdays in the future.

Friday evening. As is the Richmond Hill game. We have Stephenson @ NW Whitfield @ 3 Saturday(3 of the guys in my game have this game), New Hempstead @ LaGrange @ 6 on Saturday(I might shoot over to that game since I live on the west side of Griffin and LaGrange is a 50 min.trip), and SW Dekalb @ Eastside @ 7 on Saturday. Plus a GISA game on Friday. So we have 3 Friday and 3 on Saturday.

I'm ok w/this. So it'll be AAA and AAAAA next year I'm thinking since its AA and AAAA this year. I like Tiny. He's gonna be good for us.

Do you ever get any Cobb/Cherokee/Paulding games? If so I would like to apologize for giving you a hard time

I do. We have Cherokee High, Sprayberry, and McEachern. I had Cherokee and Cartersville in Canton earlier in the season. Cherokee won 14-12. Snapped Cartersville's 3+ year regular season winning streak. Suffice to say the Cartersville sideline was not happy w/me(I was the SJ) and my linesman. Oh well.

Very cool. Shaw at Cherokee has done a great job. Stephen at McEachern not so much.

Shaw has done a fantastic job. Good guy, too.
Stephens track record speaks for itself, he gets mulligan. They still made the playoffs.

I am not an on-field official. I run ECO and PCO (game and play clocks). Only game I had in those counties was Harrison @ N. Paulding this season.
My playoff assignments are on the chain crews. Pays $75 a game with zero coaches and fans yelling at me. I get enough of that in the spring doing GHSA soccer.

We’ll see going forward. He’s run off a large portion of the talent and he’s in an area of the county where kids will transfer to another school with ease. When he left Glynn Academy he had like 60 kids in the whole high school program.

Working the chains sounds like a great gig.

Kansas state championships are this weekend. Only issues were teams with “COVID forfeitures” in round 1 which were teams that were winless and just didn’t want to get wrecked again.

Glynn? Or are you thinking Ware County?
And I didn't know that. It does add up w/him never being in one place for too long.

Yeah you get paid half a game fee here in Georgia.

Depends. If the referee association assigns them, the yes. Many schools get volunteers and don't pay them.
Come playoff time, the association assigned to referee the game provides the on field crew, the clock operators (game and play), and the chain crew.

I have a blast with it. I've "graduated" to running the game or play clock and I like the game clock better. Sitting in a dry press box with food and drink available to me ain't a bad gig.
If you live in Paulding, I can connect you with the referee association that covers it; we're always looking for clock operators.

First playoff game was Gordon Lee 56-0 over GA Military Prep. Always good to have a running clock for the entire 2nd half.

Yep, same here. Richmond Hill 56-0 over Lakeside-Evans. Running clock entire 2nd half. Walked off the field at 9:32
