Robison Article

They are moving to St Charles. I'm happy he's going to Hville instead of Tbonne. I've already chalked up that game as a L for us we just don't matchup with Hville well at all. Vs Tbonne we still have a shot.

Not sure but I was told the line has good size. I know they have a big kid on the DL who has speed, Friloux is his last name.

Yea, he posted on recruiting board last year I believe.

They do have a soon to be sophomore that is about as big as I listed on the Offensive Line.

5A is loaded next season across the board. There are about 6 teams that all have a chance, and the leader of the pack (Zachary) is a ridiculous embarrassment of riches.

Seems like there is a lot more parity in 5A now and this is the dumbest time for there to be a split. At least let 5A back together. Theres not even a guarantee that privates would have one or more in the semis.

5A was never the issue outside West Monroe and their disdain for Evangel.

West Monroe was dominating public schools as bad as Evangel so the idea Evangel was making things unfair in 5A would be disengenuous.

Pushing Evangel down to lower classes was likely the dumbest move in public school history in Louisana.

4A cried about Curtis and then Neville and Karr took over and have had next to zero competition since.

The nitpicking on Private schools is insane and ridiculous. It is absurd; lacks any data that it has provided more parity. 5A has garnered parity because programs have just improved across the board.

4A has had zero growth or parity. Time to allow 5A and 4A to go back to non-split. But, won't ever happen. And allow those powerhouse privates to play up again.

4A is a holding tank for schools moving up to 4A or sinking down to 3A with a few perennial 4A programs that are just meh. I don't think anyone in 4A really wants to be there.

4A is the most boring classification in all of Louisiana for football and basketball. I agree 100% with your theory.

Neville and Karr's championships in a lot of eyes are nominal at best. Lost a lot of respect for Neville. Don't think they don't mind staying in 4A knowing when they have a really good team they likely have only 1 game with any difficulty in the playoffs.

Possibly, I like how the dad made sure to mention in the article that they're not moving for "athletic" purposes.

Demographics has a lot to do with it. We are one of the few states with negative population growth. A lot of the small schools are built to be small and are fine because of it. Many people are moving into areas that flow into these big 5A schools because those are the best areas to live in the state. What you have is the middle classes, 3A and 4A, left with some quite terrible teams from sinking areas of the state. IMO coaches either want a simple job at a small school or a glory job at a 5A so getting coaches in to develop talent at a 3A or 4A is tough too. Not saying they don't have good athletes in those classes, it's just really poor product.

Damn that is some deep thinking right there baw.

And I like it. Makes logical sense and sense I haven't given it as much thought as you I won't disagree.

Very few schools like Sterlington where growth is happening. I believe they will be 4A in the next couple years time. We need to abolish 5A and recreate the school census line for 3A and 4A. Allow top tier teams to play up into 4A if they wish also.

Something needs to be done but the LHSAA is a laughing joke and won't do shite.

Going back to 4 classes would be good and each class would have about 90 schools. B and C could be absorbed into A. I can at least feel sorry for C, but why does B have it's own class again when they have the same size as A? If anything that should be an advantage for them over the other schools in the sports they do sponsor because they can prepare longer.

Texas has about 125 schools per state champion if you are looking for a reference point. Another one is about 30 in Alabama

Edit: Alabama is probably more like 50 but they have only 32 schools in their highest class. Compare that with Arkansas that actually has I think 14 in their highest class!

This is Louisiana we are speaking about here.

Ain't no way the big money at schools like Neville and West Monroe and others like them with deep pockets will EVER allow Curtis, Evangel, University, DeLaSalle, St Pauls, St Augs back into the fray. Ain't happening. No fricking way in hell.

The LHSAA is an organization to the highest bidder and largest wallet.

We may be showing decline of the privates right now. I think 4a and 5a may recombine again in the next few years.
