Nobody really practices live tackling anymore so he'd probably be happy to run through those soft arms.

No one wanted to see Earl coming at them, he would punish defenders. It’s a shame he wasn’t on a good team like many great players who were drafted by the worst teams.

Prime Earl would do well in today’s game not just because of physicality, but his mindset.

With that in mind, he's still good for 1,100 yards and 8 TDs

Honestly the best I see him doing is Mike Alstott type numbers

Defenders are too damn fast and strong for him to run them all the frick over, I know he was fast too but it’s a different game

and Marshall Faulk would be even more lethal today than he was in his era.

Those Oiler's teams he played on were in two AFC championship game that I recall.

There were some badass defenders when he played that would put what’s out there today to shame.

Plus there were no targeting rules. Probably why Earl is in a wheelchair.

The main positions where a 70s player can't play today are O line and D line, because of the massive size differences.

So we pretend they wouldn’t have access to modern nutrition and training?

Yea, Einstein was an idiot. Dude couldn’t even use a computer.

Yeah. The linebackers are about the same.

Earl was an absoulte beast but it's a completely different game now. As a RB, he wouldn't be the #1 overall pick and he wouldn't get 300+ carries per season. His career was basically over at 28. Raheem Mostert has fewer carries at 31 and 9 NFL seasons than Campbell had in his first 2 NFL seasons.
