Votto IS an insanely great hitter. He has the ninth highest wRC+ among 1B through their age 33 season in the history of baseball. He's every bit the hitter that Jeff Bagwell was. Of course Bagwell was a much better all-around player but Bagwell got into the Hall of Fame because of his bat not his all-around skills. And Votto will likely join him if he sustains this level of play for two or three more years.

I'm just piling on now, but what the hell? Who is an insanely great hitter if Votto isn't? He is 12th all-time in wRC+.

Indeed he is. I thought Cueto was always underrated when he played there too.
