How to fix MLB schedule and playoffs post-expansion

This makes too much sense, so it will probably never happen.
--32 total teams.
--16 in each league. Keep teams in their current league. Each league gets 1 expansion team.
--4 divisions, 2 in each league, 8 teams each.
--Schedule:
12 games against your division teams 12x7=84
6 games vs same league/other division 6×8=48
3 games vs 10 of the 16 teams in the other league 3×10=30
Total 162 games. There are 6 teams you won't play. We will survive. Rotate the interleague games by year.
What it accomplishes:
-- You play 84 games in your division. That is slightly more than half. Currently, teams play 52 games within their division, which ia slightly less than 1/3. That is how you get the embarrassment of the 81-81 Astros making the playoffs. Also, NFL teams play only 6 of 17 games vs division rivals (35% of total). That is why you are guaranteed a shitty sub-.500 NFC South team every year.
How it helps the playoffs:
--Very simple. You can keep the same format of 6 teams per league, but now it is 2 division winners and 4 wildcards per league. No division winners playing wildcard round games. The 4 wildcard teams play Tue-Th, and the division winners get the bye.
This should work unless someone finds a flaw I am missing.
But I can absolutely see MLB doing 8 divisions with 4 teams each so more teams get a trophy. Because we all want to see the Las Vegas A's win the 4-team AL West at 72-92.

On top of that, schedule double headers every other Saturday so that each team has one home and one road double header a month to shorten the season by about a week or so.
It adds another roster spot for those day. It can be marketed as an event day to help offset the loss of a unique gate, which could mean more attendance anyway.
Even if you don't start it until the weather warms up a bit I think it would help. The season needs to be a little bit shorter, ideally without reducing the number of games.

I would love this. You don't need to play all the teams in the other league every year.

Doubleheaders for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day.

Love this idea. Or even if its not all double headers on the 4th, you could stagger that out over 3 days. Depends on where in the week it may fall. At least with Memorial Day and Labor Day that will always be on a Monday.
This year the 4th was a Saturday so that was perfect. Next year it would be on a Sunday, then in 2028 it would fall on a Tuesday so that might be harder. Could always shift it to the weekend before or after when it falls on Tues-Thu.

Manfred is in charge so chance of this happening is almost nil.
But I think it's a great idea. There's been seasons recently where the Cubs don't play the Cardinals until like mid-June and that's just absurd.

And it works like that on the back end also. Sometimes division rivals are done playing each other in July, which is equally dumb.

How about this... Just get rid of the regular season and just make one big huge season long playoff

Needs to be odd number of games for tiebreakers. But other than that, good stuff.

I agree. I am open to the format change for post season round length. But 2 divisions/4 wildcards is the way to go.

Like the dodgers need more of an advantage in this round
Wild card round is a joke
Did I need to see a braves Phillies series go three game and now braves are at a huge pitching disadvantage
Astros had no business being in playoffs with that record

They should only play 120 games, product would be much better and season would be over before much sooner

Eliminate interleague play

There are probably 10 teams that could market and sell it as an all-inclusive event using the hotels the teams all own right next to the ballparks for $1,000/ticket.
