ND, assuming this was last year's 8-5 Georgia team, let in a sea of red into their home stadium. Flipping the script. Little do they know, this is a playoff caliber Georgia team that they let come in and take a 1 point win from them. Meanwhile, they are battling it out trying to get into the top 4.

It's gonna be hilarious when 11-1 Notre Dame gets the #4 seed over 12-1 Georgia.

ND fans are generally stupid (see the multiple threads of them wanting to fire BK)

but ND needs to schedule UGA like teams since they dont have a conference championship game, so this is a weird OP, OP.

I'm sure Notre Dame fans (at least the ones I know) are absolutely ecstatic about their team right now following a 4-8 season. They're a playoff contender. Not sure why they'd feel stupid at all.

The frick are you talking about? If ND wins out, they are pretty much guaranteed a playoff spot.

Every UGA win only strengthens ND's resume by extension. I personally hope they win out. An 11-1 ND team with a 1 point loss to the #1 team isn't getting left out the playoff.

Notre Dame would have about five Top 25 wins compared to Georgia's two. You could certainly justify it.

But still, the melt would be hilarious.

head-to-head naturally gets bumped down when considering OVERALL team value

if head-to-head mattered the most then Pitt would be the champions last year, Memphis in 2015, VaTech in 2014, etc

we'd have teams deciding to simply avoid a schedule of a lot of tough games if H2H mattered most.

I mean, it definitely matters when you have the same amount of losses as a team you're being compared against.

So we're throwing out head to head completely?

UGA went to South Bend with a freshman QB in his 2nd start and beat the Irish.

it matters when teams have comparable resumes, yes

guess we will see how that all shakes out

Pitt, Memphis and Va Tech all had more than 1 loss. So did PSU last year when OSU got in over them.

i was just pointing out that H2H is not the 1st criteria being looked at. clearly.

Odd thread. Why should they feel stupid? They control their own destiny. Win out and they're in.

how about if two teams who played each other are compared and one isn't clearly better...

Difference is the two teams have the same record. So head to head matters much more than your terrible examples
