How stupid are the kings for passing on Luka for Bagley

I mean it's not like he came from no where. Winning euroleague mvp at 19 is about as can't miss as can't miss gets. They passed on him to draft Chris Bosh with a shorter wingspan who can't shoot

As a Mavs fan, im glad they did. Looking forward to seeing Dennis Smith Jr and Luka grow. Both are 19

They shouldn't have passed up Doncic but it's way too early to dog Bagley

Smith isn’t progressing how I thought he would.
Bagley delivers when he’s in, not sure why the kings are still starting Bejelica
Bagley is averaging 14 and 7 off the bench

Never trust Duke players. They never pan out. And before someone tries to pull a gotcha with Kyrie, dude played like 100 minutes before his college career was over.

Bagley is playing well. Actually all of the early lottery picks have looked good so far.

There are plenty of Duke players who've had long successful NBA careers. Get out of here with that dumb shite.

Kyrie is also just another guy in the NBA without LeBron carrying him.

bjelica is more than solid in his own right. He’s a really really good player. Was considered the top euro only a couple years ago. Thibs didn’t like him tho apparently.

I think the interesting question is who has looked better thus far: Luka or Trae?
I would go with Luka. He is a better defender than I anticipated. But both have been pretty inconsistent shooting so far (to be expected with rookies).
Trae showed what he is capable of in that Cleveland game. And damn he had some nice moves to the hole on Friday (I think).

Tatum, Ingram, Jabari, Kyrie, Grant Hill, Boozer, Redick, Dunleavy Jr., Battier, Brand, Maggette, Laettner, Winslow, Tyus, Mason Plumlee, and Henderson have all been at least decent pros and many have been far better than decent.
Okafor outside of his rookie year, Shelden Williams, Will Avery, and Trajan Langdon were flops but only one of those guys was even drafted in the past decade.

JJ Redick reached his full potential as a NBA player (serviceable shooter). Grant Hill was one of the best players in the NBA til injuries. Shane Battier had a good career. Elton Brand had a decent career too. but yeah theres been some misses from Duke. Okafor has been a bust. Brandon Ingrams star is rising.
eta forgot about Tatum. he's good too

I can’t tell if this is a knock on him or not.
Smith has been just fine thus far in terms of progression. He needs to take a backseat now though to Luka in terms of ball possession and running the offense.

I think both players will be All-Stars one day but it may take Bagley a year or two longer due to his game and situation.
I'm not sure if either will be a top 5 player, although I guess Doncic seems to have a better chance since he handles the ball more and can fill up the stat sheet.

Smith is too ball dominant to exist with Luka. he's got to go. trade him straight up for Malik Monk

Agreed. I've watched almost every Mavs game this season. I feel as though Luka goes too long at times without even touching the ball.
DSJ is playing well, but I'd like to see Luka as the primary ball handler with DSJ working off of Luka. Not vice versa.

I miss Shane Battier on commentary

Kings gonna King.
They are pretty much the Browns of the NBA between an idiot owner who thinks he knows more than he does and a GM who is mainly known for the trivia question of “Who was Kobe traded for?”, regardless of his on court success.

This. I like Luka, but it's hard to criticize any of the high lottery teams.
Ayton, Bagley, Doncic, Young, Bamba...they all have looked like the players they were advertised to be.
