the bottom line is notre dame really doesnt lose recruits because they cant get into the school. people blaming their lack of success on the admissions are just wrong.
The bottom line is that if the administration will only allow a certain number of exceptions to the admissions standards in means that they DO lose recruits.
For example, if they grant 5 exceptions one year, and there are 10 recruits who would need an exception to get in, they have lost out on 5 recruits.
Why is that so difficult to understand?

Does this "article" have any validity?
Is this true that they have lowered the standards last month?

You're the unintelligent one who can't understand a simple concept like arithmetic.

However, they won't take 20-25 borderline guys, which is what your typical SEC school can do,
true, i would guess most only take 5-6 questionable players per year, but i honestly have no idea.
there is a stigma surrounding *stupidity* in the SEC that i believe to be largely untrue, but there is quite possibly some truth to the stereotype.

Not according to bbap.

this is an arbitrary example that you have no proof happens on a yearly basis at all.

Except for the article linked above.
And from my knowledge of how similar institutions operate.

that article can be interpreted as where it once was just barely tougher than SEC schools now its basically the same.

so as a general statement cowherd has no clue what he's talking about.

the problem here is that you actually believe notre dame would want to pursue 10-15 under-qualified athletes.
bbap is arguing that the guys ND wants they are able to get; and since ND does not want 10-15 kige ramseys per class, he would be correct.

I'll just say this my recruiting class this year, (the entire class) would not be admitted into Notre Dame.
But Notre Dame wouldn't go after the majority of our class anyway so it's a moot point.

it could have been written two-three years ago.

Seems to me that he's arguing that ND's standards are the same as everyone else's standards, which is patently false.

does ND have a special ed section like "University College" to send all their retard athletes like Tulane did with the Lynarius Elpheage's of the world?
Do you realize how small Notre Dame is in student body compared to other major D1 schools?

Incorrect. Notre Dame, Michigan and plenty of other schools have academic casualties that can't get in.

nope i said they're close, and they are.

Brian Kelly wanted a guarantee of this before he would agree to be their coach. There is a long long history of Notre Dame not getting everyone they've wanted for academic reasons.
