i'm currently reading meat market and this guy seems to be a much better fit for college due to recruiting. the guy knows what the frick is up and really is a great recruiter. he lives for it

he can't get a comparable fix in the NFL

so i'm wondering how long it will take for a mid-level, top 40 team to hire him as an arse HC/DL coach? the guy is a really good DL coach who almost certainly could DC in a pinch

i thought of this while reading a Nebraska team profile this morning. imagine what he could do to help them out. or take Texas Tech. imagine leach having a guy who could jump their classes to the top 15 range

i mean i'd love to have him at LSU, and we could have, but i also understand that he might not have meshed with our staff

Lane is no slouch at recruiting. no reason to bring Ogeron in.

I don't think Les would ever consider him anyway after all the shite with KW and Joe McKnight

the baggage he carries around with him is a lot lighter in the NFL than it would be in college

I wanted him to come to LSU when he was fired as well. I have come to realize that one of Les's biggest strong points is implementing the attitude all our players and coaches have right now. You have guys that would be absolute stars on other teams happy about "just contributing" behind our other players right now. Everyone seems to be on the same page and everyone seems to be happy about it. This is something that is much more important then a lot of people realize, because IMO it is the difference between our teams now and a lot of our teams in the past, where everyone was out for themselves. I don't know if Coach Ogre would be very conducive to that.

oh i am not trying to be critical of not accepting his offer to come on the staff. i understand we have a staff and orgeron might not fit and/or may have burned the bridge.

well he was a big part of the USC teams of 2003/2004, and they didn't have this problem

Has this been blown out of proportion a bit? I don't see how the JM thing would really bother Les that much.

True.....You have to admit, USC has enough talent to overcome just about anything usually though.

orgeron talked a whole lot of shite about LSU in his "us v the world" attitude while he was at ole miss

and his personality might just not fit in with the current coaching staff

there are many reasons les might not have wanted orgeron. i don't think LSU was the only school he called trying to get a job, post-ole miss, so he might have burned more than the LSU bridge

a USC guy i know said he wasn't welcome on USC at the moment, so who knows

i'm sure the next defensive opening Petey has, he'll re-work the staff and bring Bebe back.

Bilj, you think Les is punishing Keiland for drawing his recruiting out with Petey and co?

i just don't see how a TT, TAMU, Nebraska, UM, or other schools that could challenge for the top with more talent aren't throwing themselves at Orgeron. UCLA sold their soul to get neuheisal, and he's got 10 times the baggage of orgeron

well O was a hot commodity supposedly between us and the cowboys so he's probably making more money than he would have as an asst. coach in college.

yeah they'd prolly have to offer a lot of money

but i think NU/TAMU would pay if it came down to just $
