We probably wouldn't have took our foot off the gas Peej, if this were the case.

against Clemson the game wouldn't have started at dawn...

against Clemson we wouldn't have been playing the 3rd string...

against Clemson the atmosphere would have been 1000% different...

They may have took it down a notch. But come on they were running the same type of plays and the back-ups had trouble against a wore down App D!!!!!!!

We played vanilla, we had a lot of back ups in during the second half, the game was at 10 A.M, we were winning big in a hurry........really just a completely different scenario then if we were to play Clemson. I'm not saying we would have beat them worse then Bama did, I'm saying there isn't really a comparison for the 2 games.

I'm not sure you can compare the results of the LSU game with the Bama game. The level of intensity has to be higher when you're a team trying to prove yourself playing a top ranked team from a BCS conference at a neutral site on prime time TV. As opposed to the defending national champion playing a D1AA team at 10:00 AM. Not to mention it was QB tryouts.

VT was very over-rated coming into that game last year and it showed after playing LSU.

If we hadn't beaten V.Tech, they would have played for the BCS championship with only one loss for the year, but we might have played USC in the Rose Bowl.

Alabama looked great. It was good to see the SEC play well.

But you have a few games against that conference yourselves. Good luck with that.

I don't remember VT being within 13 points with a half of football left, but I don't mean that to take away from your victory. It was impressive, and I'm sure by next year, Auburn and LSU will have a fight on their hands.

Bama played 60 mins of Football. LSU played 30. I don't think LSU beats Clemson by as much.

Here you go with your typical douchebag bullshite.

LSU would have DESTROYED Clemson last night every bit as badly as Bama did. Our d-line would have blown up that putrid o-line of theirs probably even more than Bama's did.

And regarding the fact that LSU only played "30 mins" of football, if you can't understand the difference in opponents and atmospheres between these two games then you just might be more of an idiot than I already realized. It's apples and oranges you dolt, apple and oranges.

Can't do much better than ZERO yards rushing. I am only saying that JPW is better than Hatch or Lee and Clemson would have been able to put much more pressure on them as App. did. They looked ok yesterday, but look at the level of the opponent.

It was Clemson. They have always been and will always be a soft football team

I'll give you that JPW is certainly more seasoned than our two, but Clemson's defense was atrocious last night. No adjustment by the coordinator, just allowing Bama to continually dink and dunk, and no guts or heart, allowing Bama to smash them in the mouth at will. I have no doubt that Crowton would have exploited them just as well.

Surely you know that LSU's intensity level would have been through the roof to start that game, so I think we can assume that after getting punched in the mouth by us, Clemson would have curled up in the fetal position in much the same manner. Furthermore, the VT game last year is evidence that in that type of setting, we would have played "60 mins" of football.

My retort was because your initial post in this thread was just a reaffirmation of your love of Saban and your desire to criticize LSU, the team you allegedly pull for.

2 big reasons

1. 2008 clemson is a whole lot fricking better than 2007 VT in terms of talent

2. we beat the living dogshit out of them. it wasn't a game at half. bama won by a large amount, but it wasn't nearly as dominant. against LSU VT essentially had 1 drive where taylor just scrambled around and that's it

Clemson had more talent than VT last year as well. It didn't stop them from not winning the ACC like they always do. Beating VT last year was a better win because everyone expects Clemson to choke.

We are talking about a team that lost to Maryland last year. And they are still coached by Tommy Bowden.

It's a nice win for Bama. But it's a worse loss for Clemson.
