May well have been 8 for 8, if not for Stern/MJ The Baron? A sorta timeout, to let Ewing/Knicks have a chance for one, Spurs at time yet to get their first, Pacers, and HTown w/midseason trade for Clyde The Glide to help finally get Hakeem/Kenny/Cassell/Horry/Elie one..then a second.

No. No player from that era ever SAT on the floor crying for a call while the other team was in transition and scored. He's a pussy

LeBron is timeless like a Dr J or Big O.

Fictitious '10s Heat vs '80s Lakers:

King James big edge over Alltime NBA Top 10er Magic.

It's when getting past he, maybe a moderate to medium Wade vs Byron Scott edge to Miami, that the old-school era team edges would kick in..

Kareem>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bosh

Worthy>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Miller/Battier

Cooper, Wilkes, Rambis, Green, Kupchak, Lucas, etc = or > Chalmers, Andersen, Cole, Howard, Haslem, etc..

Today's players are better at iso, speedier, more versatile inside/outside..yesteryear's players were better at the team game, passing, cerebral finesse.

Imagine how much more badly an even younger Duncan would've eaten alive an in-prime Bosh this past series? And/or calling Manu and Wade's slide from early to mid '00s All-World status a wash. It may have been the difference in the series?

Better. Players came out of college more polished. Had real centers.

Its sad that people cant enjoy the best player and best era of the NBA since the 90s.

Currently you have by team

heat-Lebron Wade Bosh with a good supporting cast
thunder-Durant westbrook (formerly Harden) with a great supporting cast
Clippers-CP3 Griffin with a decent team
Spurs-Refusing to age Duncan, Parker, Ginobli etc
Grizzlies-Gasol randolph etc
Pacers-granger, hibbert, west
Bulls-noah, rose etc
Warriors-Curry with a good supporting cast

Then you have howard dirk melo

The NBA hasnt been this good in a long time IMO. The only thing the league is deficient on is centers.

We are also witnessing the GOAT putting down four triple doubles in the finals like it aint no thing. Double what MJ has in the entire playoffs over his entire career.

The 2010's are better than the 2000's but that's not saying much when the 2000's were the worst decade in the NBA since the 50's.

I'm being generous to the new generation, in explaining that after Lebron and Wade, even if declaring their edges huge(I don't necessarily agree), that it's mostly all Lakeshow 3rd man to 12th(especially 3rd starter to 8th man). Same for Bad Boys, Bulls, Celts.

And with very few exceptions, he was right. You named two of the very few guys who didn't.
