The cerebral struggle is real for some of you.

Step back, gain some altitude on the matter, and think about what you’re saying.

The guy is in year 1 as a head coach. His team won the west. They will need to breakthru in the next couple years w this core group. But why would they disrupt anything at this point in time? Just let this group grow and develop organically.

If they keep hitting a brick wall in future seasons, then sure.

How is it the HC fault Wimby choked on his own vomit game after game? That was the difference in the series.

Charles Barkley said he is a young, black coach so we can't criticize him.

Black coaches get special treatment in Barkley's world.

He made horrible game management decisions and substitutions.
Yes, Wemby is young, but he was coached into horrible positions on the floor. It was hard to watch having Wemby near half court setting picks and handling the ball.

Hes not a good coach. Learning as you go is a tough call. Wemby, in this day and age, may have an expiration date in SA...especially if he deems the coach isnt up to it.

Some times, not always...you just have to cut bait

Why does that factor, if he shows he can't handle the pressure when it matters?
So if the saints make the Super Bowl this year and play like shite you want Moore fired?

Spurs had the 17th best odds preseason to win the NBA title

Overachieving season, successful ahead of expectations. The other 5 in the top 6 I would've had ahead of SAS, and either a Clippers or Warriors or both.

Most who follow the NBA even somewhat before the season began realized the Spurs had a young team with a lot of talent and to just make the NBA playoffs and win a few rounds would be decent progress. Most teams don't win it their very first year to make the playoffs. Even Michael Jordan's team did not do that.

So yes, they showed definite improvement and went much further than the did in the 2024-2025 season. The coach will learn and so will his mostly young team. Plus, there will be a few changes made in the off-season.

I think De'Aaron Fox is likely headed somewhere else and yes, the Spurs depended too much on him. He failed to deliver in the clutch. The Spurs also learned that Harper should be a starter and be in the game in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter when it is decided.

And Wemby will learn. Most of the league's premier big men did not win it all the first time they got that far. Experience still means something.

Look out of the Spurs in the NBA's 26-27 season.

In the last 50 years, only 4 teams have gone from missing the playoffs to NBA champs next year. One was the 2022 Warriors after an injury riddled season the year prior, one was the Lakers in the bubble, one was the 2008 Boston super team. The other? 1977 Portland.

The Spurs were trying to do something historic. Yes, they choked on a big one, but they did it collectively. You don’t go from worst to first in the NBA like that.
