So let me get this clear in my mind. According to PF bringing DJ back for a day is worse than Sandusky and covering up child rape. Idiot

He wins more games than Durkin

not even close.

I don't think that Brian Kelly would survive such a scandal if it happened in 2018.
This incident happened back in 2010 and believe it or not people have gotten way way more reactive to things in just eight years. Twitter was barely a thing in 2010.
The media and the public is far more aggressive about holding coaches and athletes responsible for things these days. A lot of the time it's overreaching hysteria but in Kelly's case would have been justified.
if only we could strike some sort of sane balance where people get outraged about things that are actually outrageous and don't worry about the rest.

Act of god blew over the tower. It was negligence on someone. But not necessarily solely on Kelley
In Durkins case. It was a player under his direct supervision and control. Two different things. And he died during drills which the coach is in control of.
Not due to an act of god that blew over a tower.

It wasn't a meteorite that fell out of the sky.
It was a wind gust on a very windy day. They operated a piece of equipment that you're specifically not supposed to use in high winds.

I think it is simpler than that....

I get that Kelly was there but the Video Coordinator sent the guy up there after replacing a girl because she was too scared.
But Kelly didn’t give the order the other guy did
Durkin was fired because of media pressure and a President for optics not an investigation not exactly the same.
Both Kelly and Durkin hired the people whose conduct resulted in those tragedies, since they lead the programs and hire staff, they're ultimately responsible thats the whole point of respondeat superior and vicarious liability in the legal realm, your argument holds no water. Go Samford Bulldogs!

dont blame god , or Mary or baby Jesus.
Wind blew in gusts.
Gusty wind. Real God is oblivious. Creator god is mythology.
People are really in a muddle about god. Tornado, for example. The mega churches say that's punishment for sin.
Infants too?

Neither coach should be blamed

Brian Kelly actually forced that kid to go up there. But ESPN loves ND so he gets a pass. And the kid wasn’t a football player, so most people don’t care. It’s a damn shame. Brian kelly is a terrible person and should be fired

Kelly didn’t send him up there know the facts

Actually they aren’t. But I get your point. Video guys are most separate part of the group
Actually, they are. And I am not speculating.

Equipment guys/Trainers have much more interaction with coaches/players than video does
Posted on 11/3/18 at 6:45 pm to MikeAV8s
Yes you are and trust me I know how much separate video guys are. Our guys didn’t know the video guys names but knew every manager trainer and had Knick names for them.

Exactly. BK didn't specify who should die that day. BK just wanted film from the angle
a vulnerable tower could provide on a windy day.
