The greatest comeback/meltdown in sports history imo based on the sheer magnitude of the comeback plus the fact it was pulled off on the worlds biggest stage. Do they simply put it ALL on the falcons ineptness?

The shel311 response to this is if he was so great, he wouldn't have been down 28-3 in the first place.

Greatest comeback or greatest collapse?

Brady did great but he never would have completed that comeback without the incompetence of Matty Melt and crew

Brady reads your threads pride and takes so much joy in watching you cry after he makes another comeback he through the pick 6 just to make the comeback even greater on purpose. Brady out here playing 4d chess with you.

Also correct

Falcons scored 7 points in the 3rd qtr

Zero points in the 4th

Like every other game, ws/ls come down to how the team plays. Pats defense and offense was elite in the 2nd qtr

The Patriots went into that game thinking they were going to be able to run on the Falcons, and just were not able to. This, in turn, changed the game plan to throw the ball a thousand times and basically outlast the pass rushers. Brady wasn't bad, but wasn't great the first 2.5 quarters, but was elite as hell in crunch time when it mattered most. I think it speaks to him, and the team as a whole, that they even had an opportunity to do that.

You kind of have to though, because all they had to do was take a knee for every possession in the second half and they would have won

Absolutely

The fact his defense only gave up 7 points in the second half made the comeback possible. How the hell do you only score a single TD in the second half?

It was a collapse. They stopped playing physical on defense. They were shutting the Patriots down playing man press and then they went soft zone and got worked. If you have the clear cut superior athletic advantage, keep using it when it’s working.

I mean, if the Falcons just run the ball a bit more they win. Its crazy.

They lie to themselves. Brady is the GOAT of GOAT's across all sports. Gretzky is the only one who approaches his greatness.

He has been super lucky with the tuck rule play, Malcolm Butler pick, Atlanta melt, defense carrying him the Rams Super Bowl and some other games. On the other hand, it took some ridiculous things to happen in each Giants Super Bowl loss, as well as having no defense in the Philly Super Bowl loss where he lit up. And he did carry them into the Super Bowl in the win at KC. So, it all evens out IMO.

That's simplifying it. The Falcons did not have a corner that could man up on Malcom Mitchell, and once the Patriots figured that out they just went ham exploiting that.

What?

348 yards--1 td--2 ints--77.1 rating

It was the pats 176 yards rushing that carried them that game. Brady didnt play well

He threw for 350 yds in 37-31 win. I'm not going to call it an awful game because he didn't have a bunch of 1 yard TD passes that you guys overvalue so much.
