Waaaaambulance

quote:

To censor myself, it's BS. I don't think one person is happy about the night game travel," Astros outfielder Josh Reddick told the Houston Chronicle. "I think it's a complete misjudgment on how they make a schedule. It's absurd, really. "Look at us, we don't do that to anyone. We don't ever give them a [getaway day] night game unless it's Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. It makes no sense. It really makes no sense. A lot of guys aren't happy about it, myself included. It's going to be a long day, but this is what we get paid to do. We suck it up and hopefully take it as a little spark to fire us up."

Their whining about the 2018 WCF is perfectly justified.

New Orleans certainly gives Houston a run for its money on that title...

When people ask me why Houston is the most important city in the south. I will point to this thread. Our bottom of the line up right fielder makes waves.

Atlanta is just another railroad town no one thinks
about. When people from Houston speak, it gets attention good or bad.

The Astros bandwagon exploded down here. These people were MIA during the lean years. I’m not talking about attendance at games specifically. They just didn’t seem to have an interest in the team at all.

They were Rangers fans I bet. Before that, I guess Red Sox or Yankees fans.

Every team has this shite happen, so I won’t say it’s unique to them. With that said, their fans have a holier than thou attitude these days.

Now the players? First Verlander, now Reddick? Geez...

This is your second thread in as many days whining about something related to Houston. Seems somebody hurt you in your vagina.

I think a lot of Houston not giving a shite about the Astros from 09-012 was pretty justified. They were intentionally arse, north of 50% homes couldn’t even get games and prior to the ownership change it wasn’t clear when things would get better.

Growing up in the 90s here, the Astros always had a strong following. It absolutely has bandwagoned but that’s what happens when you are good.

Post MLB strike to like 06 the Astros were very well supported. It shouldn’t be surprising to people who followed baseball that the fans came back after they were done tanking

I don’t know where “down here” is but if it’s Houston they were definitely not Rangers fans maybe some Yankees and Red Sox but most were probably just indifferent

AL West is the worst division for travel, but at least the Astros have the Rangers to travel to.

The Rangers had no local team to travel to in the division for years and never complained

And at least they aren't the Mariners. Mariners have the worst traveling situation in baseball

I can see his gripe. Why couldn't MLB just make it an afternoon game when one team was going to be traveling back 2 time zones afterwards for a game the next day? They didn't get back to Houston until after 5am....and thats without the game going into extra innings or having a rain delay.

I am positive that somewhere there is a rangers player bitching about travel.

If this is really the first time you think any MLB team or player has voiced complaints about a shitty schedule forcing ridiculous traveling conditions, you haven't been watching baseball long.

For most of the past 28 years I would have said it was Atlanta, but in the past 3 Houston has come on strong and taken the lead.
