So just to piggy back off of that story a bit. My mother was older cousins to Herschel and another one of our cousins named William. While William was getting recruited Dooley's assistant came to Wrightsville, Pat Dye came instead of the Bear since he worked under him and I believe Clemson's coach did as well. Kind of funny all of them came to see him not knowing that the best athlete in our family was just some skinny teenager at the time.

The guy was including his usfl stats as well which is like another 5k yards.
But with that said, even just with his NFL career look at the chart you posted. Everyone around his name on that list that didn't recently retire us in the hall of fame. Those who had recently retired will likely be in the hall of fame as well .
He averaged 4.2 a carry in NFL and 4.9 in the usfl. He's usfl stats are gaudy because he has an absurd 1100 attempts in 3 years vs 1900 over 12 years in the NFL.

I never saw "hall of famer" watching him play in the NFL. He was just a longevity guy that had a solid career. King of like Gore but Gore will get in because he's so high on the all time list. Neither are/were special NFL players.

Is the CFL defunct?
Maybe you are right.
Moon was a 9x pro bowl. Walker was 2x.
Moon: nfl offensive player of the year, afc player of year. Nfl man of year, 2x passing yard leader, passing td leader.
Walker: none of that.
