If I were to get a Royals jersey it'd have to be a Dan Quisenberry one.

Based on your post, go with the Royals. They have a bunch of young, exciting players. They will be fun to follow. And yes, get a powder blue jersey.

You've already made the case. You are familiar with the team, have connections to the area, know some of the fans, AND you are getting in on the ground floor of a team that could be rapidly improving.

Root for the Royals. It seems perfect for you. Buy a Louis Coleman jersey.

All of this...

Miami Marlins. They will probably pay you to attend their games.

This is what I'm looking for.

In 1997, I sent a letter to all of the NFL teams proclaiming myself a NFL Fan Free Agent, and opening the negotiations. Not a single one of them replied. I was hoping to get some schwag and maybe tickets to a game at least.

I knew a guy who did that for the EPL. About half of the team sent him media guides and applications to join their supporter organizations. It was pretty cool, honestly.

From one F1 fan to another:

Tampa Bay Rays!

Cardinals historically my favorite, but been a Rays fan since inception. Lean years at the beginning, but times are good now.

The Rays are interesting. I dislike most of the teams in their division.

All pitching, no hitting. We are used to it here, but it's a good group of guys. Organization top notch - just cash poor. If you go with Royals, ex-Rays Shields and Davis should be great additions.

They are pretty astute, but they have to be. Maddon treats his players well & they enjoy playing here. We are resigned to eventually losing some talent, but with good pitching, good farm system and smart moves (trades), Rays have been in contention for 5 years running. Not bad considering payroll expenditures.
