A guy I work with declared for the NBA draft his senior year in college. He went to UCONN, he wrote a letter to Jim Calhoun trying to get a letter of recommendation, but Calhoun never responded. He's also like 5'6" and never played basketball.

They are pretty astute, but they have to be. Maddon treats his players well & they enjoy playing here. We are resigned to eventually losing some talent, but with good pitching, good farm system and smart moves (trades), Rays have been in contention for 5 years running. Not bad considering payroll expenditures.

I agree 100%. Madden is legit and I wish the Rays had the money to compete and pay their players they bring up in their system.

If you really want to start pulling for the Rays, read The Extra 2% by Jonah Keri. Damn interesting book in the same vein as Moneyball.

NWA is Royals territory now. Which is weird to me since nobody cared about them when I lived there. The Naturals have had a big impact.

Talked to a lot of Arkansas people last season going to Royals games when I'd see license plates in the parking lot or people wearing Hog stuff inside the K. The Royals are usually going to disappoint you but its pretty cheap and you can tailgate before the games.

I've been a lifelong ranger fan(it's been tough) and the way the clubhouse attitude changed the last 5 years or so has made it easy to fall in love with this team. they act like little kids on a daily basis and make the game fun. as well as being talented

Homer post here, but the Braves will be fun to watch this year. Almost every bat in the lineup has 15+ hr potential. Simmons might, the jury's still out on him. Tons of strikeouts, but tons of pop also.

I think you should be a Yankee fan. They are the greatest team in the history of sports and are destined to have a great season this year!

Yankees... Don't think I can do it. Hate Jeter, Hate ARod, Hated Steinbrenner's approach to the game, being an Arkansas guy cheering on the Yanks doesn't seem right, it's sure not natural, and I'm not sure I could live with myself.
