There aren't one billion TVs on the planet, much less in all of Asia. Expanding into Asia is a rabbit that the PAC 12 is chasing that will lead them off a cliff. Nobody cares about football there and getting 1% of china to care about PAC 12 olympic sports would mean 10 million people, except most of them won't be able to afford subscription television or maybe TVs at all. Let's not forget that what drives TV rights is advertising, and companies won't be lining up for face time with impoverished people in a communist state.

I hate China as much as any American. But from what my Banker Friends tell me, Singapore right now is the place to be. But right now China is taking over even more so then Singapore and is BOOMING and is where all the money is shifting to. China = the new money center. Putting down China's wealth, right now, is foolish if you know Banking or know what you are talking about...

You do understand that China literally has no middle class, correct? There is a small percentage of the population that has all the wealth and 80% of the population that are at the CHINESE poverty level. Good luck selling your network to that market.

Yeah, I don't really understand the marketing angle with Asia...and I'm first generation South Korean to begin with.

In general, they don't give a shite about american football. In general, they are going to side with soccer, baseball, and basketball. MORE IMPORTANTLY: they are going to side with reputable university names such as Stanford and Berkely. But that's about it. The football angle is not going to work regardless of whether the manfacturing or banking hubs are amassing there.

Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea--last time I checked they were doing quite well.

Tell you what--we'll let the PAC-12 go in there to create the demand for American college football. Cali does have a level of creativity that is hard to match anywhere on the planet. So if it's doable they'll do it. Then the SEC will come in and show them what they were missing watching the PAC-12.

Also, we are not currently into Asia. We have not even launched our PAC-12 Network yet. But wait till the end of this summer and see it yourself what we do launch. And then in short time, watch us advance and launch our Network to 1 Billion homes or more in Asia.

This one is a real gem.

Ducks,

Do some research on university rankings and endowments between Ivy League schools and PAC 12 schools and get back with me on this one please. When you do, understand this: the California schools prop up your conference academically. Washington is also a fine school but nowhere near Ivy League material. Neither are any of the California schools not named Stanford or Cal.

Actually my State used to have a sign a few years ago, put up by our Governor that read, "You are welcome to visit but please do not stay." And that was directed at the Californians. We detest them. They have flooded our States with their immigrants wishing to leave the their crime and they have changed our culture by flooding our State with their peoples. However, in a Conference CFB debate, I will most defiantly use them.

he boast about the Pac 12 but lets not forget they have ASU which is basically the WVU of the west but atleast WVU has a legit reason for lower admission standards

Could be said about any major university.

You said the PAC 12 is like the Ivy League. That's a quote. Fact is it isn't. It also isn't like the Big Ten or ACC to name a couple others. Academic rankings, research grants and endowments.

BTW, those last two are where the money is. Football money is a drop in the bucket.

If I wasn't smart enough to get into a Pac 12 university, I would probably look at them as Ivy League schools.

No shite...and athletically across all sports.

Cal, UCLA, Stanford and USC are all ranked in the US News & World Reports Top 25 Academic Institutions in America.

And those 4 schools have carried the Pac 10 in sports the last century...winning the Director's Cup (Stanford), football (USC), basketball (UCLA) and all that water polo/Rugby crap from Cal.

Outside of those big 4...the Big 10 crushes the Pac 12 Academically - if you ignore Nebraska.

Dude, just create your own threads. You create threads and they quickly die out. I create threads and more then not last over 10 pages, several times over 20. Regardless, I came to this site first, though I do not mind that you are here in theory. I just don't appreciate when you go out of your way to interrupt my discussions in my own threads to take shots at me all while brown nosing with the retarded. How about you just restrain yourself and create your own threads that have your own discussions. Either way, if you continue the pop shots, I will continue to fire back. And up to this point, I have been pretty civil. Your choice...

The only reason your topics are multiple pages is because people like to make fun of you and you respond to others by making a new reply for each one instead of grouping them in a few posts.

quote:

o each his own. I personally think 98% of all the gif's guys use on this site are immature. Oddly, I think I am noticing a trend where I create a thread and then in the middle of it, you take it over. New rule. Since you are doing more and more butt kissing and in general we are diverging paths why don't whatever thread I create, you not post in them, and whatever threads you create, I not post in them. Deal?

No one would care if you stopped making threads. You're just really annoying to everyone.

quote:

I'm just gonna say it...this is the most whiny kiss arse thread I've seen in a while. Still love ya though.

I AGREE WITH THIS

quote:

Anyways, I am no different then any my fellow hard core Quackers I know. Not only, same thing for my favorite Quack Posters, like one, the very best one, who is on ESPN a lot. And even Ted Miller of ESPN, who as you know, covers this Conference for a living, him and I agree like 99.8 % of the time on everything. So I'm hardly a lone wolf there retard. Maybe some day you can not feel the desire to be weak and buckle and have to kiss arse to be excepted and can hold your ground...

Are you for real?

Is there one person on this board that...

1.) likes you? NO!
2.) cares about anything you post? NO!
3.) isn't annoyed by you? NO!

Even duck fans don't like you. That's pretty sad Mr. Troll. You may be the most annoying TigerDroppings poster in the history of this board.

Stop acting like your important here. No one gives a flying frick what you have to say. Lets be honest here, the only reason you started that "list your top 5 defensive coaches" thread is so you can start a top 5 offensive one and talk about Chip Kelly. Then when someone doesn't mention Chip Kelly you go FULL RETARD.

I was offered UO. I choose to go to a University close to my home in Eastern Oregon. Now let me ask you: If I had a Grandfather that went to UO and played CFB for UO and even played for a Rose Bowl would that mean anything? And if I had several relatives that attended does that have a connection?

Retard. One does not have to attend class at a certain school to be connected to a program. One can be born a fan since birth. Or one can spend thousands of dollars giving to such a school. I give thousands to UO in Donations and I spend thousands in Traveling supporting UO where they play. You are simply Retarded. Now go burn a couch or something...

USC actually has more international students (mostly from Asia) than any university in the country. USC defnitely has an good reputation in Asia.

Correct. But the Asian countries love their baseball and Olympic sports, and the PAC usually performs well in those sports (not so much baseball this year, but you get what I'm saying). So yeah, there could be a lot of Asian eyes watching a PAC-12 network.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: I am in no way, shape, or form agreeing with DucksFly about anything discussed here, or about anything in life.
