He won’t be, but Brock Bowers should be rookie of the year

The resident LSU fans won’t like this, but it’s true.
• Most yards by a rookie TE ever
• Most receptions by any rookie ever
• Best TE in the NFL as a rookie
That last one is the most important. Being the best player at your position as a rookie is completely unheard of these days
Daniels is having a great year, but it’s not a historically good season. He’s got the rookie rushing QB record but in general his numbers don’t stand above some of the other rookie QBs of the last 10-15 years.
Additionally, unlike Bowers, he’s not the best player at his position. Most publications and metrics have him somewhere between 4th and 10th in the NFL at the moment.
And no, it doesn’t matter that Bowers plays for a losing team. The award is rookie of the year, not “most valuable rookie”.
TL;DR: Daniels is having a good season, Bowers is having a historical season that is much much less likely to be replicated

Maybe so but people don’t look at it that way. If the Raiders were 12-5 and playoff bound and Commies were 4-13 with both having the exact same stats Daniels wouldn’t be ROTY either.

He’s not winning over Jayden Daniels
The Eagles and Falcons comeback wins sealed it for Daniels
Most wins Washington has had since 1991
Bowers is probably #1 at his position and technically should get it, but the voters aren’t going to ignore the season Daniels had
Bowers will probably get 1st Team All-Pro, which is actually a more impressive award for a rookie, because his competition for that accolade is every NFL tight end, not just rookies

Bowers was awesome this year. That said, no shot NFL will let a TE get it over a QB leading his team to the playoffs.
EDIT: Also no need to take a swipe at LSU
only reason you care about a rookie TE is because he played for UGA

I'd gladly see him win it.
1. Bowers
2. Nix
Everybody else

I mean, maybe?
Herbert went 6-10 and easily won over Justin Jefferson

Stop trolling. Hook too shiny in every thread

Wins matter, skins were picking 2nd, now in the playoffs.
Raiders still suck.
Trust me, 90% of this board wanted Bowers on the Saints.
I wanted Bowers or Thomas.

Yeah it would probably be Nix. It’s a QBs world.

What’s the harder task:
Being the best qb in the league
Or
Being the best te in the league
Being the best qb in the league
Or
Being the best te in the league

Obviously not, but they probably should
The truth is, a rookie QB playing well and leading their team to the playoffs, isn’t that special
Stroud did it last year, Dak in 2016, RG3 in 2012, Russell Wilson in 2012, Matt Ryan in 2008

Tight end is one of the least important positions, probably less so than any other position that isn’t special teams.

I’m assuming you mean for a rookie.
No rookie QB has ever been best in the league
No rookie TE has been best in the league since Ditka in 1961
But like I said, if you compare Daniels season to other top rookies it doesn’t necessarily stand out

It’s a good think you’re not in charge of setting betting lines in Vegas. Your sportsbook would be belly up within a month.

Which shouldn’t matter at all. It’s not an MVP award

I think it’s good you probably don’t have to read for work because it literally says in the title that Bowers won’t win.

His 5 TDs aren’t that impressive

You said he “should”. Just like Denver should beat KC today. No one ever says “Denver should win so let’s make them the underdog”.
