Hagler is my favorite fighter of all-time, and Hagler-Hearns is my favorite fight of all-time. His battle vs. John "The Beast" Mugabi was a war, as well.

Tough to enjoy a fight when you know the dude dies

I've never understood the controversy around Hagler-Leonard. Outside of a few middle rounds, Leonard schooled Hagler. I think I had it 8-4 Leonard. I'm a Hagler guy but you don't get points for chasing your opponent around the ring and missing power punches.

Hadn't watched that since I was a kid. While that was one of the best, I have to go with Gatti/Ward for best. That first round was mostly Hearns. When you watch multiple rounds of Gatti/Ward they are both killing each other the entire 3 minutes.
I miss boxing.

I felt the decision should have gone to the Hagler, you have to take the belt from the champ.
Here are some of the scorecards from that night-
Associated Press: 117-112 Hagler
Chicago Sun-Times: 115-114 Hagler
Chicago Tribune: 7-5 in rounds Hagler
HBO, Harold Lederman: 115-113 Leonard
New York Post: 114-114
New York Times: 114-114
Newsday: 115-114 Hagler
The Ring magazine: 115-113 Leonard
San Jose Mercury-News: 116-115 Hagler
Washington Post: 114-114
Judge: Jose Juan Guerra 118-110 Leonard
Judge: Lou Filippo 115-113 Hagler
Judge: Dave Moretti 115-113 Leonard

And that's why I don't give a shite about boxing anymore, corrupt judges like that a-hole Guerra. Well that and the lack of badass heavyweight fights.

The Hagler-Leonard fight was really, REALLY close. Personally I had Hagler winning but it could've gone either way. Do I think that Leonard did enough to win the title? No.

If you guys havent seen the george foreman vs ron lyle fight, you should.
hearns/hagler was an awesome 3 rounds.
no way leonard should have won vs hagler. hagler was so distraught after that fight decision he never fought again

Also if you are a fan of guys just doing work, Vassiliy Jirov vs James Toney is a great fight. The fight plays out like a movie, the last 3 rounds are brutal.

It's a shame Morales and Marquez never stepped in the ring together. What's funny is Marquez priced himself out of that fight and then went fight Chris John instead....and lost.
Yep, even the younger Mexican-American fighters Juan Diaz and Rocky Juarez had their moments.

I score it like so:
1. Leonard
2. Leonard
3. Leonard
4. Leonard
5: Hagler
6: Leonard
7. Hagler
8. Hagler
9: Even
10: Leonard
11: Hagler
12: Leonard
All 10-9 rounds (except the even one). So, 115-112 for Leonard on my scorecard.

The Hawk is in my top ten P4P list. Bold statement, yes, but he was incredible. Shame the drugs got him; he had a lot more greatness in him.
