Some truth to this. Wonderboy brought a lot of fans into the sport with no knowledge or roots in the sport.
The constant fiddling with the Chase pisses me off, but so does the mere existence of the Chase.

I started losing interest when they stopped racing to the yellow. The PC BS doesn't help. The drivers are boring can't speak their mind. Cookie cutter tracks also don't help. I never cared for the chase. The old way was better consistency over the course of a year.

No, no truth to this.

The chase is a dumb way to select a champ, especially the winner take all in Homestead.
I think the bigger problem is the way the rules are constantly changing to promote parity. You get races at these 1.5 mile tracks where everybody just sort of rides around with very little passing. I'd rather less rules where the teams that find speed that others can't get to show it on the track. If that means JJ or whoever dominates then so be it.
We embrace dominance in other sports. Everybody wants to watch the Warriors whether you love them or hate them. Ppl wanting to see the massive favorite get knocked off drives ratings. Nascar seems to not want this for some reason.

It would appear NASCAR and Notre Dame are on the same trajectory.

Generally speaking, I regard NASCAR fans the same way I do grown men who wear jerseys in public and people with tribal armband tattoos.
