I don't have an agenda, did you read the first page? People were implying that he was forced to resign because he sued the school board. That didn't sound plausible and according to you I was right. Thanks for setting the record straight.

How much would it have cost to fix this?

More details about the case out now. Sounds like the lawsuit is still active.
LeCompte's suit, which names the board and its insurer as defendants, says he and others complained to the school district about the "presence of unknown toxic substances and safety hazards'' in the field house adjacent to the football stadium. LeCompte said he has suffered excessive illness, including tremors, optical hemorrhages, headaches, nosebleeds, rashes and constant fatigue among other symptoms."
St. Tammany Parish school district spokeswoman Meredith Mendez said Wednesday (Aug. 23) that the district "took immediate steps'' to ensure the building was safe after it received a complaint about it. She said the school district contracted with three companies to test the field house for any toxins.
She said the companies performed multiple tests and determined that the building was safe. She said the school district has continued to monitor the building and that all subsequent tests have also showed the building is safe."

This is a crazy story. Used to play for him at Salmen before Mandeville and was always a nice guy. Seems like Mandeville is completely in the wrong here.

Adjusting for their money, their parental support, and their recent record, Mandeville has the worst stadium and facilities in the state. I'm sure they're nice by most standards, but they deserve better than nice
When you consider they won't address the mold issue and everything else you mention obviously they don't have to money and parental support people seem to assume they do. We are in the same district and play them every year and their facilities and parental support is no better than ours at Ponchatoula. I think people just automatically assume mandeville is loaded with money. No doubt the community is but at the end of they day they are still a public school.

I don't know why the most affluent parish in La doesn't have better facilities than we do. I have been to other areas in the state and in Alabama and their high schools look like college campuses almost. Even Zachary, La has an outstanding gym and that is a nothing town. Makes you wonder where the money goes in St Tammany

I grew up in Mandeville, and have been away between college and my career since 1997. The reason why the schools are short on funds is because the citizens of St. Tammany vote down every tax increase when one is proposed, and have for years. The increases are not always directly related to education, but when tax increases are voted down for other city plans/projects, it leaves less money to distribute where needed. The folks on the Northshore are stingy when it comes to tax proposals. Always have been.
The high schools in suburban Houston where I live look like small colleges. Their athletic facilities are ridiculous. We pay significant annual taxes to our local ISD, and the results are tangible.
